The #CanadianTelecomSummit in Toronto was a perfect platform to share our intent for the Canadian market. I had the opportunity to deliver a keynote on “Building an AI-Native Enterprise – A Transformational Opportunity for Canadian Enterprises.”

My core message was simple: the shift from Digital-native to AI-native is not incremental — it is exponential. Enterprises need to move beyond pilots and point solutions, and reimagine products, processes, talent, and operating models around AI.

I was very encouraged by the response to Incedo’s AI products and broader client proposition at the Summit. The conversations reinforced that the market is ready for AI-native transformation — provided it is linked tightly to business impact.

It was also special to introduce my latest book, #HumanEdgeInTheAIAge, to the Canadian market. The book’s message felt very relevant in this context: as AI becomes more powerful, the real differentiator will be human judgment, creativity, resilience, and leadership.

One of my objectives in writing #MasteringTheDataParadox, and more recently #HumanEdgeInTheAIAge, was to bring together my experiences and insights in a way that could contribute meaningfully to India’s journey in the Digital, Data, and AI age.

Over the past two years, I have had the privilege of sharing these ideas across many forums and in conversations with senior policymakers, business leaders, entrepreneurs, academics, and technologists.

This blogpost is an attempt to synthesize many of those conversations into a coherent perspective on what the #AIAge means for #India.

India’s AI moment is real. But it must be approached with ambition and realism.

The AI race is not over. India may not lead the frontier model race today, but it can still shape the AI Age through frugal innovation, trusted products, population-scale deployment, and a deep understanding of real-world problems.

But the risk is real too. For a services-led economy like ours, AI will disrupt many of the jobs and skills that powered India’s growth over the last three decades.

Incremental reskilling will not be enough. India needs a much larger shift — from services to products, from job seekers to value creators, and from talent arbitrage to entrepreneurial capability.

The answer has to be a tsunami of #entrepreneurship. But that tsunami must be deliberately enabled through AI infrastructure, deeper skills, university-startup ecosystems, patient capital, and a national mindset shift toward builders.
