With his fist clenched around the neck of the wine bottle he verifiably purchased, the witcher had set himself a few metres shy of the cliff edge. If not for the need to alter his sobriety, he could've verifiably purchased some food too.
"Where there's peace, there's no coin."
"That is awfully romantic."
The witcher moved his hand to rest over hers, he reckoned it's time to start pushing his luck.
"Do you wish to have something to chase after ?"
"One of the reasons, yes. Another reason would be how unattainable it seems at the moment."
His eyes narrowed to survey her response while his index finger traced the hilt of her sword.
"Mhm, always so ready to still. It's 'cause it's shiny, isn't it?"
She hums, amused.
Moving to sink the tip of the sword into the floor, into wet earth.
"Something you won't part with easily."
His tone consolidated to a more tenacious one. A few swift steps followed to close the gap.
"I find it hard to turn away its allure."
"Being the Emperor's Favorite - or, well. The most useful. Before the wedding anyway.
A gift."
Giving him a side eye. But, not yet ready to throw hands.
He's made a living out of bugging people he shouldn't be. An empress is too good for him to not engage.
"How does one acquire such a sword."
He murmurs in a feeble tone, not keen to draw excessive attention. Establishing familiarity should aid him in his plans.
It's quite clearly a prized possession, hence the heightened need to attempt a robbery. The consequences can be dealt with later.
She absolutely does need to concentrate, stay fixated on that thought while he schemes.
She would rather he not - not that she'd blame him, it's a beautiful sword. Nilfgaardian craft work, thorns as a decorative element for a handle and a golden rose engraved.
But, she needs to concentrate.
@SinuousWitcher He flashed a delighted smile at her before acquiring a few seconds to gather his thoughts.
"Why not have the drink during, and not before? How about a challenge? Try not to spill the drink while I'm at it. "
The viper wasn't joking around, and Tempest knew that.
