According to The New York Times, President Donald J. Trump departed Turkey aboard the older VC-25A Air Force One at the recommendation of the U.S. Secret Service following the resumption of hostilities with Iran, despite arriving on the new VC-25B "Bridge" aircraft.

The report states the decision was a precautionary measure—not the result of a specific threat—and has renewed questions about whether the expedited conversion of the VC-25B included the full suite of defensive systems and hardening found on the legacy VC-25A fleet. The White House maintains the aircraft meets all required security standards.
