Outreach Programmes titled “PRARAMBH 2026” on the Income Tax Act, 2025 and Income Tax Rules, 2026 were conducted by the Charge of PCIT-2, Kolkata on 19.05.2026 at the premises of M/s. Baidyanath Ayurveda Pvt. Ltd., Kolkata, and on 21.05.2026 at the premises of Bandhan Bank, Kolkata.
The employees, along with the CEOs and senior officials of the respective organisations, attended the programme and participated actively.
Brochures in Hindi, Bengali, and English were distributed among the participants. The participants were also requested to download the brochures through QR codes provided during the programme.
During the subsequent Q&A session, various queries relating to the new Act and the new Rules were raised by the participants, and the same were duly clarified.

An Outreach Programme, “PRARAMBH 2026” on Income Tax Act, 2025 & Income Tax Rules, 2026 was conducted by the Charge of PCIT-5, Kolkata on May 19th 2026 at Training Hall No. 1002 of NADT, RC-Kolkata at Aayakar Bhawan Poorva, 110 Shanti Palli, Kolkata-700107.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from tax professionals, salaried individuals, trade & industry representatives, and students from DPS Ruby Park. Nearly 150 attendees joined to understand recent changes in the Income Tax Act and their impact on taxation.
The Awareness Programme was inaugurated by Shri H.N. Singh, PCIT-5, Kolkata, with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, joined by Shri Sushil Poddar, PCIT(C)-1, Kolkata, Shri Altaf Hussain, CIT(OSD), Range-13, 34 & 49, Kolkata and the Principal of DPS Ruby Park, Kolkata.
A Helpdesk, Feedback Kiosk & “Kar Saathi” AI chatbot kiosk were set up at the venue to help attendees access departmental forms in multiple Indian languages, watch educational videos, and experience AI-powered assistance for Income Tax queries.

An Outreach Programme on the TDS/TCS framework under the new Income Tax Act, 2025 and Income Tax Rules, 2026 was successfully conducted on 21st May 2026 at the Conference Hall of ICAI, Siliguri by the Office of CIT (TDS), Siliguri.
The event witnessed an enthusiastic participation from various stakeholders, with discussion being held on key new features of the Act & Rules.
The event included an interactive Q & A segment where several real-time practical issues relating to the implementation of the new TDS provisions were discussed and clarified.

An Outreach Programme named ‘PRARAMBH -2026’ on Income Tax Act, 2025 and Income Tax Rule, 2026 has been conducted by the office of the PCIT, Asansol on 21st May, 2026 at Auditorium Hall, 1st Floor, ICAI Bhawan, Priyardarshini Indira Sarani, Durgapur-713205.
The programme saw active participation of around 130 stakeholders, including senior Officers, local stakeholders, corporate taxpayers and institutional members.
Shri Pradeep Dungdung, JCIT, Shri Modhu Sudan Roy, ITO and Shri Joydeep Verma, ITO conducted the technical session.
Representatives from the Taxation Bar Association (Durgapur), ICAI (Durgapur), and the Tax Advocates Bar Association shared constructive views on the legislative changes.
Focus was also placed on outreach tools including “Kar Setu” (99-page FAQ), “Samvaad” video series, multilingual brochures, cartoon-based education featuring ‘Madhukar’ and ‘Motu Patlu’, and the AI-powered bilingual assistant “Kar Saathi”.

An outreach programme titled “Prarambh 2026”, intended for assessees of Howrah District falling under the jurisdiction of Range-46, Kolkata, was organised by the O/o PCIT-13, Kolkata. Chartered Accountants, Advocates, assessees and tax practitioners attended the event.
Shri D. Manoj Kumar, IRS, PCIT-13, Kolkata, conducted an interactive session highlighting the key provisions, simplified framework and significant changes introduced under the new Income Tax Act, 2025 and Income Tax Rules, 2026.
Smt. Monalisa Pal Mukherjee, IRS, Addl. CIT, Range-46, Kolkata, explained the FAQs relating to the transition from the Income Tax Act, 1961 to the Income Tax Act, 2025 through “Kar Setu” and also acquainted stakeholders with “Kar Sathi”, the chatbot introduced by the Income Tax Department.
During the subsequent Q&A session, various queries relating to the new Income Tax Act were raised by the participants and clarified by the PCIT-13, Kolkata. Around 65 stakeholders participated in the programme. Feedback forms were distributed and participants were also encouraged to submit their feedback online.

An outreach programme, “Prarambh 2026” on new Income Tax Act, 2025 and new Income Tax Rules, 2026 was conducted on 19.05.2026 at Conference Room of AAPDA Bhawan, Port Blair by the Office of Principal Commissioner of Income Tax-1, Kolkata stationed at Port Blair. The event was led by, Shri Manish Kanojia, IRS, Principal Commissioner of Income Tax-1, Kolkata. Stakeholders from various segments attended the event.
In his inaugural speech, Shri Manish Kanojia briefly explained the salient features of the New Income Tax Act, 2025 and its differences from the earlier Income Tax Act,
1961. A Power Point presentation explaining the major changes made, was presented by Shri Arnab Sarkar, IRS, Joint Commissioner of Income Tax, Port Blair.

An Outreach Programme on TDS provisions in Income Tax Act, 2025 and Income Tax Rules, 2026 was conducted by the office of CIT(TDS), Kolkata with Direct Tax Practitioners Association (DTPA), Kolkata on 19.05.2026. The event witnessed an enthusiastic participation from various stakeholders, with discussion being held on key new features of the Act. The event included an interactive Q & A session in which the latest challenges faced by the stakeholders were deliberated upon. The proactive and solution oriented approach of the Department was highly appreciated by the participants.

Shri Prasenjit Singh, Member (Legislation), CBDT, led the Indian delegation to the 60th CIAT General Assembly, held in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, from May 11 to 15, 2026, in collaboration with the General Directorate of Internal Taxes (DGII) of the Dominican Republic. The theme of the conference was “Digital transformation of tax administrations”.
During the Assembly, the Member (Legislation), CBDT, participated in a panel discussion on the theme, “Use of Digital Platforms and Artificial Intelligence to Assist Taxpayers”. He highlighted India’s significant strides in the field of digital transformation. The discussion also underscored key developments, including India’s new Income Tax Act, as well as ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing tax awareness and strengthening capacity building.
During the event compendium titled “Technology and Tax Administration: The Indian Experience” and “SAKSHAM NUDGE: An Innovative Approach to E-Governance” were presented to the forum.
The Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT) @CIATorg, established in 1967, is a non-profit international organization that provides specialized technical assistance to support the modernization and strengthening of tax administrations worldwide.
Currently, CIAT is composed of tax administrations from 42 member and associate member country, wherein India is an associate member country.
During “Prarambh 2026” organised by the office of Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax on 14th May at Kolkata, dedicated kiosks were set up to inform the stakeholders about ‘Kar Sathi’ AI Chat Bot and “Kar Setu” - a series of FAQs to guide taxpayers in the transition to the new I.T. Act 2025.
In addition to this, brochures on important forms and key provisions in the New Income Tax Act were displayed in multiple Indian languages to inform and assist taxpayers and visitors about these new initiatives launched by the CBDT through an interactive interface.
The initiative received an encouraging response from taxpayers, professionals and other stakeholders attending the outreach event.
A dedicated feedback and outreach helpdesk also facilitated dissemination of the educational and informational content.

Smt. Surabhi Varma Garg, IRS, Pr. Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, WB & Sikkim, highlighted that the new Act aims to simplify tax laws, promote ease of compliance, enhance tax certainty and encourage voluntary compliance.
Shri Yogesh Kumar Verma, IRS, DGIT (Inv.), WB, Sikkim & NER also addressed the gathering.
The event was very well received and witnessed enthusiastic participation from Industry leaders, Trade & industry Associations, Tax Professionals, Taxpayers, Students and Media representatives.
