Ideal way is to pass a law in Congress to sunset the H-1B visa with no more new issuance and no more extension for those not subjected to AC21. This would humane. But instead we see killing it with a 1000 cuts and ensuring those on it suffer, as if to derive sadistic pleasure.
The online lynch mob against Indians which @X has enabled has poisoned the minds of many young Americans. This reflects in Pew survey where older Americans view India more positively than younger ones, who're online 24x7.
People online on the internet consume so many memes and shitposts about India that whenever they see normal south asian-looking people, their brains short circuit and explode into a million pieces.
@iamthebadman@X As you admit, they are all seeing it online. Content online is a massive oversample. Not representative of the group. There are unscrupulous actors whom I've critiqued here several times. But Indians are getting discorporate hate compared to other groups which commit worse crimes
@asc89@RichardHanania Their goal is keep the issue burning till the midterms for now and take it as a wedge issue all the way to 2028 elections. Also, want to use fear to make people self-deport rather than sunsetting the visa and give people clean exit.
@mithyanash@carlwheless@Warby_bo_bandY0@RichardHanania Yes, this is what "heritage American" tribe wants. They want to be rewarded solely because their ancestors came to this land before others did. They want hierarchy based on how long one's bloodline goes back.
@carlwheless What's the shocker in a Pakistani doing Pakistani things.
See, Pakistani identity is negative identity, of negation. They define themselves as "not Indian". Hence waging war on Indians in any form possible and wherever they are is the very fundamental of their identity itself.
@Hanakookie1 H-1B is not self-sponsored. It is sponsored by an employer and that employer is American. So who is the real American you or the Americans who sponsored the visa?
Entirety of Silicon Valley has Global Capability Centers (GCCs) in India. It's not just backend IT offshoring but cutting edge R&D happening there
H1B was 'abused' by IT outsourcers but anti-H1B folks want to cut off even the top talent inflows. The entire system needs a reboot.
People don’t like skilled visas like H1B because they think the counterfactual to a foreign-origin worker in an American job opening is an American worker in it.
It’s not.
The counterfactual is that job opening getting exported to Shenzhen, Shanghai, Bangalore, Toronto, or London.
@handsomeanglo Good. You're being honest that you have racial/cultural anxiety and not cloaking it in economic arguments of "jobs". Appreciate your honesty.
No, not at all. Like AI washing, Big Tech has started H-1B washing. They fund GOP which pushes for policies making it hard to hire someone on H-1B. They use this "policy uncertainty" as a pretext to move jobs overseas, mainly to India's GCCs. Profit margins 📈, stock price 📈.
@Hanakookie1 Explain how H1Bs are not for American people. Is your argument racial/cultural or economic? Again, asking you to be honest. There simply isn't an economic argument. https://t.co/OblF6aBPoH
Indians (H-1Bs) destroying American middle class is a very low IQ take bereft of evidence, and motivated purely by racism and victimhood mindset (which itself is a product of low IQ).
Grok analyzed this and provided facts.

The value created by Indians in Silicon Valley is tremendous. Something basement dwelling low IQ white supremacists who cry 24x7 about Indians taking jobs can never match.
Here are significant contributions as Researchers, Founders and Founders.

@billybinion There is a real jobs crisis in the US purely caused by economic uncertainties caused by tariffs and the Middle East war, along with AI. It is true that new grads are finding it harder to get jobs. But blanket ban on F1 -> H1B talent pipeline would have long term consequences.
@Hanakookie1 Anyway you've deviated far away from the original topic. Your framing H1B as bad for the economy i.e taking American jobs is not grounded in reality. Your angst is more cultural or racial. Just be honest with it.
@Hanakookie1 Anyway, if certain nations don't sabotage India's economic grown by funding protests and militant groups, Indians will not need to migrate elsewhere.
Irrespective of it, as India's economy grows, out-migration will reduce. Like it did for China.
