✈️ My Strategy for Air India Maharaja Club Bonus Miles Offer 🔥💳

👉 I’ve already registered for the Air India Maharaja Club bonus miles offer, but I have NOT yet transferred my ICICI Emeralde Private Metal (EPM) points.

📅 My plan is to transfer points only after my EPM statement gets generated. Why? Because ICICI EPM points are credited after statement generation, so this strategy allows even my May spends to qualify for the bonus transfer 🚀

⚠️ Important: Air India will give bonus miles only on the FIRST transfer from each partner during the offer period. So if you transfer even a small amount now, you may lose the chance to earn bonus miles on future transfers from the same partner during this promo ❌

💡 Effectively, with the 50% bonus, every spend done even now (till statement generation) will earn upto 27% Airmiles 😱:

💳 Every ₹100 spent before statement generation becomes 1.5x Air India Miles 😍

🎁 Gift cards purchased via iShop:
➡️ Effective return = ~27% in Air India Miles 😱🔥

🛍️ Regular spends:
➡️ Effective return = ~4.5% in Air India Miles 👌✨

💳 What about HDFC Infinia Points?

Infinia transfers to Air India at a 2:1 ratio. Even after the 50% bonus, you effectively get:
➡️ 1 Infinia Point = 0.75 Air India Mile

Personally, I don’t find this attractive 🤔

Why settle for 0.75 Air India Mile when Infinia Points can still be transferred at 1:1 ratios to excellent airline programs like:

✈️ Finnair Plus → then convert to Qatar or British Airways Avios
✈️ Flying Blue (Air France / KLM)
✈️ KrisFlyer (Singapore Airlines)
✈️ Lotusmiles (Vietnam Airlines)
🏨 Wyndham Rewards (some sweet spots)
❌Air Asia, Spicejet, Radisson and IHG even at 1:1 can be ignored

✅ And if not above, can simply use Infinia points as 1 Point = Rs.1 for flight, hotel, Tanishq and Apple products from SmsrtBuy

So for me, Infinia Points are far more valuable elsewhere 🌍💎

✈️ DGCA Airline Ticket Refund Rules Effective 26 Mar 2026.

💳 Credit card refunds must be processed within 7 days of cancellation.

💵 Cash ticket refunds must be made immediately at the airline office where purchased.

🌐 If booked via travel agent or portal, refund responsibility lies with the airline and must be completed within 14 working days.

💰 All statutory taxes including UDF, ADF and PSF must be refunded in case of cancellation, non utilisation or no show, even for non refundable and promo fares.

⏳ 48 hour Look in option allows cancellation or amendment within 48 hours of booking without extra charges. Fare difference applies.
• Not valid if departure is less than 7 days for domestic or less than 15 days for international flights when tickets booked directly via airline website.

🧾 Airlines must clearly display refundable amount, charge breakup and cancellation fees at the time of booking.

🚫 Cancellation charge cannot exceed basic fare plus fuel surcharge, excluding agent fees disclosed at booking.

💼 Credit shell cannot be default and must be offered only if chosen by the passenger.

❌ No additional fee allowed for processing refunds.

✍️ Free name correction for the same passenger within 24 hours of booking if booked via airline website.

🏥 In medical emergency cases where passenger or family member on the same PNR is hospitalized during the travel period, airline may provide refund or credit shell. Medical certification required in other cases.

🌍 Foreign carriers will follow home country regulations, but refund mode must align with DGCA timelines mentioned above.

@AshwiniVaishnaw Sir I would like to bring your towards IRCTC refund policy. If the trains has been cancelled for a boarding station then it should be auto refund. Why its mandatory to file TDR since train itself has cancelled to the said station. Why the rules only favour irctc?
