They were destroying the "research" of the Jewish doctor Magnus Hirschfield, one of the top pioneering figures of transgender surgery in the world at the time.

When the National Socialists broke into Hirschfield's "sexual studies" institute, they found his office was full of jars containing the penises and clitorises of the German children he castrated during his surgeries, displayed as trophies on his wall. (This was around the same period the Jewish author Theodore N.
