I still don't know anybody who uses Google Gemini instead of ChatGPT but I do know a lot of people now using their APIs (incl myself)

Speaking to a lot of friends in India, one thing is apparent.

What pervaded India between ~2014-21 was a sense of unbridled optimism; a hope for things to get better and breaths held for India's moment in modern history to arrive.

Today, that optimism doesn't seem to exist anymore. Maybe I'm talking to the wrong cohort of folks, but the sense of "this country is cooked" is so widespread. And frankly quite sad to see.

As promising countries close their borders (US) and other ones have economic doomsdays waiting for them (Europe), the next 10 years of opportunity seems scary for talented young Indians.
