🌧️⚠️ Monsoon Surge Alert! ⚠️🌧️
Brace yourselves, #MumbaiRains lovers! Heavy to very heavy rainfall is forecasted for Konkan, including Mumbai, as models align for a significant monsoon surge. The GFS model was the first to predict this weather pattern, indicating a low-pressure area (LPA) moving close to North Maharashtra. While initial forecasts showed exaggerated rainfall and winds, newer updates have toned it down a bit. If these forecasts hold true, we might witness an extraordinary end to the monsoon season, which officially concludes on 30th September.
Most of the models are aligning with forecast of heavy to very heavy rains in Konkan including Mumbai.

Two upper air circulations are present in the Bay of Bengal and Myanmar, along with an east-west trough extending from Andhra to Myanmar. These systems will move west-northwestward, with the one in the central Bay likely intensifying into a low-pressure area. This will initially trigger heavy thunderstorms across South Peninsular India and parts of Central India.
