‼️ URGENT: ‼️
The Lumbee group in North Carolina is actively working to stop federal legislation that would return sacred and historical lands to tribal nations, all to create leverage for their federal recognition bill.
1/
The UINO condemns this conduct, believes the Lumbees should not be allowed to circumvent the federal recognition process at the Department of the Interior, and encourages other tribal nations to join us in this condemnation.
2/
NCAI condemns the unauthorized distribution of inflammatory materials at #NCAI81 today. This violates our code of conduct and the standards we uphold. We apologize to our attendees and to the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina for this great insult.

If the jurisdictional solutions for the #McGirt decision can fit on two 8.5 x 11 pages, it’s not a crisis and can be worked out pretty darned easily. Still time to join us for lunch and the afternoon session at @IndianNationsOK’s #Sovereignty101 Summit and candidate forum!
At the #Sovereignty101 Summit at River Spirit Casino! It’s free and open to the public… lunch is on @IndianNationsOK — hear from great speakers including tribal leaders and legal experts, then stay for the #WarriorUpToVote Rally! 💪🏾 🪶🗳️
