Historic Trans-Atlantic Crossing ⚓🌊

#IndianNavy’s Sail Training Ship #INSSudarshini arrived at Antigua on #27May 26 after successfully completing her first ever trans-Atlantic passage under the ongoing #Lokayan26 expedition.

The 19-day long voyage from Mindelo, Cape Verde to Antigua marked the longest leg of the expedition, with the ship sailing continuously under sails through challenging weather conditions.

During the port call, the ship’s crew will participate in professional interactions, cultural engagements, and community outreach activities before proceeding to Norfolk, USA.

At the majestic Passing Out Parade at Indian Naval Academy, 311 trainees of #IndianNavy #ICG including 06 international cadets from Vietnam 🇻🇳, Seychelles 🇸🇨 and Tanzania 🇹🇿, marched proudly to the #AntimPag, marking the successful culmination of a long, demanding and transformative journey shaped by discipline, perseverance and naval ethos. ⚓🇮🇳

The parade was reviewed by Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena, AVSM, NM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command.

Addressing the trainees, he emphasised that technology, however advanced, can never substitute character and that leadership, courage, judgement and moral conviction will ultimately determine victory.

From the thunder of synchronised footsteps across the parade ground, to the poignant salute at the Quarter Deck and the emotional stripe-shipping ceremony conducted by proud parents, every moment embodied honour, resilience and the remarkable transformation of cadets into future leaders of a formidable maritime force.

Strengthening the Pillars of Naval Training ⚓🏛️

Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, PVSM, AVSM, NM, Chief of the Naval Staff, inaugurated three new Squadron buildings at Indian Naval Academy through a video conference, marking another significant step in strengthening training infrastructure.

Constructed under Phase II of the prestigious Naval Academy Project, the new facilities represent a major milestone in enhancing the training capacity of Indian Naval Academy, aligned with the evolving requirements of a growing and future-ready Navy.

Addressing officers, staff and cadets on the occasion, the CNS fondly recalled his association with the Academy as its former Commandant and commended the project team for their dedicated efforts in delivering modern, mission-oriented infrastructure for the next generation of naval leaders.

Piracy attempt thwarted by #INSKolkata

Responding swiftly to inputs of pirate activity near merchant vessel MV Mashallah 1 in the Western Indian Ocean, #INSKolkata undertook prompt action to investigate and deter the threat.

This timely intervention ensured safety of the merchant vessel and prevented a possible piracy attack.

As a #PreferredSecurityPartner and #FirstResponder in the region, #IndianNavy remains committed to safeguarding merchant shipping, countering piracy and ensuring safe and secure seas.

​Embarking #INSVikrant, the #CNS witnessed operational readiness and advanced multidimensional combat drills executed by the surface, aerial, and subsurface assets of #WNC. He commended the unwavering professionalism and dedication of all #WNC personnel engaged in safeguarding national maritime interests.

​The #CNS also engaged with Naval personnel and Defence Civilians over lunch at Indian Naval Sailors Institute “Sagar” and during a Fireside Chat at Mulla Auditorium. These interactions fostered candid, constructive dialogue aimed at optimising operational effectiveness, welfare and motivation.
