We would like to clarify that the claim that ethanol blending in regular Petrol has been increased from 20% to 30% is incorrect.

Petrol supplied across IndianOil Retail Outlets continues to contain ethanol blending up to 20% by volume (E20), in accordance with Gazette Notification S.O. 860(E) dated 17.02.2026.

E85 Flex Fuel (85% Ethanol and 15% Petrol) has recently been introduced at select Retail Outlets from 05.06.2026. This fuel is intended exclusively for compatible Flex Fuel Vehicles (FFVs).

For all other vehicles, normal Petrol with 20% Ethanol continues to be supplied as per the notified specifications. There has been no increase in the ethanol blending level of regular Petrol beyond the notified E20 specification.
