Jefferson Co. vs. Ripley Co.

The original Jefferson Co. Courthouse original burned down, & the current one had fires in 1859 & 2009 (when the cupola collapsed). Thomas Patterson designed the Ripley Co. Courthouse (1861).

This unique gravestone belongs to Ina Palmer who is buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Richland City. She was married to William H. Axton & had two daughters, Hallie Dee Axton and Hazel Marie Axton—probably the same girls pictured in this c.1900-1905 photo.
