IndianaVoices works for a logical and fact based approach to "sex offense" laws. We promote healing & restoration. We've joined forces with Indiana CURE.
@alanroberts You can take away the pointed hat and white sheet but you can't fix a vigilante. CPP KKK same game different name. Obviously in the 25 years this man spent in prison, the system did nothing to help him. And you want to send him back. Speaks more of a broken society than this man.
After passing the Indiana House 89-1 w/ strong statewide support, a new #CompassionateRelease bill is just steps away from becoming law.
Tell key Senators to hold a hearing & vote YES on #HB1648 to advance these public safety solutions. https://t.co/KmyOzadtTi

Please help support Indiana CURE's Prison Orientation Meeting for Family and Friends. This Saturday (10/23) at Indianapolis North United Methodist Church, 38th and Meridian. Come out and bring anyone you know could benefit.
@tlglawson70 Good point. It's interesting to note that credible studies show that your child is more likely to end up on the registry him/her/theirself than to be offended upon by someone on the Registry. Opinions about registration change quickly when its your kid that has to register.
@tlglawson70 In case anyone is interested the re-offense rate in Indiana, according to an Indiana DOC report... not mine... is 1.075%. You're more likely to get struck by lightening than that.
@tlglawson70 Since at least hear in Indiana there is no real evaluative method for imposing these designations on people I don't put much stock in these terms. It's like the term courts keep throwing around abt recidivism... "frightening and high" all based on a made-up assumption.
Prison Orientation for Family and Friends sponsored by IndianaCURE. October 23rd, 10 AM - North United Methodist Church 38th and Meridian, Indianapolis. Free but registration requested. To register call 812-345-3573 or [email protected].
@tlglawson70 Did you also know that your child is more likely to be convicted of a sex offense than to be the victim of a sex offense committed by someone already on the registry? And yet the legislature continues to direct more and more onerous laws at the registrant population.
#IndianaCURE is having a PRISON Orientation Meeting for Family and Friends of recently incarcerated individuals. Please let anyone who may benefit know about this meeting. The meeting will be in Indianapolis on October 23rd.
We recently had the opportunity to attend the MNSORP Conference in St. Paul and applaud their efforts at helping registrants make the successful transition back into society
