@ItsWoofles @Aidan64NESPlus if you check out my timeline,I review only indie animation. Some of the best recently are Watermelon girl, MechWest and Snickerdoodle
I got tired of the layoffs in the industry so I am creating my own indie animation studio.
If you like indie animation, give us a retweet and a follow!
this is probably without a doubt the most popular indie animation with a passionate fandom, and it does a lot right, but if we're judging just the episode, it felt more like a weak ep of some disney show from the early 2000's than a trailblazing cartoon destined for greatness
INDIE REVIEW: @glitch_prod and @GooseworxMusic latest episode of the ever popular Amazing Digital Circus launched this week and it's garnering tons of hype, but did ep2 live up to expectations? Does this show have legs? Find out why we gave this ep 3⭐️ 1/4
art and animation is still lovely, and refreshing, the candy kingdom was fun, especially the horse creature and we were given more info on how tadc works, but the writing was subpar. Many established traits in ep1 felt abandoned, jokes fell flat, and secrets just gave up. 3/4
The sound design, music, + narration are top notch, you can really feel the love put into this project. We're big fans of small indie teams and this was a shining example of how indie can be done. The only hangup is the story. twas a little dry. Overall though its a classic
INDIE REVIEW: Watermelon Girl by @SouthernShotty is a warm hearted short film, about a little anthropomorphic watermelon that views like a rich, wholesome childrens storybook, but find out why its @Indie_Animation's top 5 indie animation of 2024 so far 4.5⭐️ 1/3
The animation, character and environmental designs are top notch, in fact, it could very well be the best of the best in 2024, especially among 3d animations. The blender work here is amazing. Everything is so warm, and cozy. WG might be the cutest character (as pictured) 2/3
the animation is crisp and fluid and the whole fight scene looked like teen titans or something, it was great. All thats lacking is dialogue and getting to really know this magical karate kid. Its worth checking out!
INDIE REVIEW: @makeoriginals new series House on the outlands is a really short glimpse into something interesting. It's paint by numbers and the char designs are meh but the whole thing is well done. Here's why it could be a winner that packs a real punch 1/3
Make Originals has done a nice job creating some interesting indie animation projections, and this short series packs a lot into a little. We're introduced to the protagonist and her mother at their secluded home... and magic fighting ensues against magi-monkeys. 2/3
the silent feature of the show while charming, leaves a lot to be desired. This is such a rich world but everything is explored at base level due to this directional decision. It's still worth a watch, and creators Paul Robertson and Michelle Larney are worth following.
INDIE REVIEW: Jimmy and Baby is a new short thats picked up steam on youtube this week. It follows 2 non-speaking frogs in a 3d pixel, 1990's style video game short. It's whimsical and fresh and fun but do these frogs have warts? 4⭐️ 1/3
everything about this 20 minute short is made with absolute care and reverence for old video games. From little nods to old games to the fun music, this thing is a work of art. The character designs and 2d animation are superb but where the show falls a little short is 2/3
Feels like the calm before the storm in the #indieanimation world. Helluva Boss The Amazing Digital Circus have new eps dropping soon. Not to mention other little cartoons.
