The indigenous youth program focus' on youth reconnecting with their culture and passing on those teachings in youth led programs within school and communities.

Our young leaders were busy this evening getting the drum ready for four events at @RkTelementary @SrbHrsb @GBES_hrce and Colonel John Elementary. After a long summer the drum needed to be tightened by placing it over the fire. Our leaders are off to an amazing start of the year

Today we made deer stew for our class gathering. Some of the SRB and CHDHS youth had never had deer so it was a new experience for them to enjoy a traditional meal. We hope to have many more of these. @SrbHrsb @ColeHabourHigh

Yesterday our young indigenous leaders designed ribbon shirts and skirts, which they will be creating over the next few weeks. Huge thanks to @SrbHrsb for all their continued support.

Access to medicines without barriers is key to promoting great awareness to their spiritual needs and the needs of their classmates. I love when the students walk in and say they need to smudge and are able to start a smudge themselves or for their class 🥰
