Sen. Elizabeth Warren. Brilliant politician. Joyful warrior. Gun sense champion. @MomsDemand supporter. Total badass.
I‘m eternally grateful for your leadership, and exhausted by the barriers that hold women back. But there are more cracks in the ceiling. https://t.co/aGPZDSXvYF
Warren modeled how to approach social issues with rigor, paying attention to the details and the data to design policy solutions that would make the biggest impact in the lives of communities that have been most left behind. A scientist of structural change. She deserved better.
#VoterSuppression = when eligible voters can’t (1) register or stay on the rolls, (2) access a ballot or (3) have their ballot count.
Thank you to @marceelias for leading smart, strategic litigation that is protecting the vote across the country. Check out #DemocracyDocket!
Righteous words from a righteous woman. My friend. My partner in good. You have fought every single day for our families. This is a movement built to last. The Work continues. In this fight with you always @ewarren
Well before we were elected to Congress, @ewarren and I took on the big banks together during the foreclosure crisis. I knew then what remains clear to this day: she is an incredible leader, a fighter, and a dear friend. I have nothing but praise for her.
Thank you, Elizabeth.
.@ewarren gives form to brainy, compassionate, determined, indefatigable leadership. Her extraordinary belief in the capacity of our nation to serve its poorest resident and to demand the most of its people will continue to move our nation forward. Thank you, our friend!
Protect yourself and your community from coronavirus with common sense precautions: wash your hands, stay home when sick and listen to the @CDCgov and local health authorities. Save the masks for health care workers. Let’s stay calm, listen to the experts, and follow the science.
This is not what healthy democracy looks like. This is voter suppression plain and simple and a reminder of what we're fighting for when we say we have to defeat Trump, flip the Senate, end the filibuster and enact sweeping structural democracy reform.
BREAKING: Congress to allocate $8.3 billion to fight Coronavirus. This compares to Trump’s ask if ~$1.5 billion in new money.
He needs to sign it without comment when it gets to his desk.
I am mildly stunned that people are essentially saying they'll sit out the general election if they're candidate isn't the nominee. To say that now knowing what Trump has done and will do feels irresponsible -- it's not theoretical damage, it's real evil.
I do know that I'll be supporting whoever the Democratic nominee is because Trump has to go. I remember in 2016 when people said that the Presidency didn't matter and look at these past 4 years!
We legit might not survive 4 more years of Trump.
Super Tuesday is a reminder that generally America is terrible at democracy. Every state should have vote by mail, same day registration, automatic voter registration, and polls should be open from midnight to midnight on Election Day.
There’s a long history in the US of abusing scripture to advance the causes of bigotry & discrimination.
Slaveholders did it.
Segregationists did it.
White supremacists do it.
And it continues.
Yet if Christ repeated himself today, they’d likely denounce him as a radical, too.
NEWS: Trump is apparently considering reinstalling a Czar for Coronavirus after he decimated the pandemic response chain of command Obama put in place.
This is improvisation if the highest order.1/
