Right now, all the media outlets are reporting the same thing: Finnish President Alexander Stubb has offered to lead negotiations with Russia. This is yet another narrative that plays into Russia’s hands. Because no one is planning to talk to them right now.

As stated verbatim in the original article from Finnish radio Yle:

“‘If you ask, then to that question, one probably cannot answer negatively,’ Stubb replies. Stubb emphasizes that only when Russia commits to a ceasefire can we begin discussing peace.”

In other words, there can be no negotiations while Russia is carrying out military aggression. Stubb also adds:

“From Ukraine’s perspective, the military situation looks much better than at any point during this war, says Stubb. The first year of this war was a struggle for survival for Ukraine. After that — three years of resilience. Now it’s pure math. According to Stubb, we are currently in a situation where one fallen Ukrainian soldier is equivalent to eight fallen Russian soldiers.”

Do you think Ukraine’s ally would, given this math, suggest that Ukraine lay down its arms and postpone the war? No.

Russia is praying that someone will come to its rescue so it can agree to some kind of truce. Otherwise, they understand they will lose. Our job, however, is to secure just one agreement from Russia: an act of complete and unconditional surrender.

The fact that Vladimir Putin appears in the Epstein files roughly 1,000 times, without being accused as a predator himself, strongly suggests intelligence collection for blackmail purposes. If that is the case, then the Epstein matter is not just a criminal scandal but an immediate and emerging national security crisis. Congress should be investigating this starting tomorrow. We have no clear understanding of what leverage Putin may have gained over senior levels of the U.S. government, whether to extract state secrets or to shape decision-making itself. And given how Russian intelligence operates, it is naïve to think that any such information would not ultimately be shared with Xi Jinping and used for leverage on the global stage.
