Here’s the finish to top split NiS Fixed today. Took a set of tires running 4th with ~50 laps to go to get an offset on the guys up front, who had been dominant. Strategy worked. Carved my way from 16th to be leading on this GWC.
I try my hardest to race with respect and treat others well. I haven’t done that well all the time, but I’ve been working hard to improve on that. Today, I took care of everyone and this was an unacceptable result.
When the comment back is “you ran on the apron”, I don’t know what I’m supposed to do when I’m hit down there. When I’m hit from 3 lengths back in 1-2 (fair game), I definitely had to expect another shunt in 3-4 (not fair game), hence the shallow entry.
End of the day, it’s just a race, a game, a sim, whatever. Either way, sim racers spend way too much time grinding away for races to end like this. I’m proud to race in top splits like this, and I don’t get many chances to win. Today, I did, and I’m so unbelievably disappointed this is how it ended.
On to the next one.
