Finally recovered from #LondonPride2022 it was just the most perfect day filled with love, joy and support. Even in this country not everyone has the option of being free with who they are. It’s been 50 years, hopefully it won’t take 50 more to change that.

Ppl often discount polyamory on the basis of "success". In a world where serial monogamy is increasingly the norm, a single life-long connection is a fantasy of "success", like an unrealistic dream of that past that monogamy has always meant lifelong happiness.

I like to rephrase, “being prioritized” as feeling valued by your pals. Prioritization is a monogamous construct that’s rooted in scarcity and restricting anything outside the couple. But being valued is polyamory-friendly since we can value many different people at once!

I’ve said this before but it bares repeating:
Polygyny: 1 husband, many wives
Polyandry: 1 wife, many husbands
Polygamy: word used when speaking of both the former (gender neutral, still hetero)
These are legal terms & their definitions matter.
… & none of these are polyamory.

@RamonaQuaxli It’s so hard to see b/c socially it’s so tied to erotic desire. Ppl say you fall in love (romantically) but to stay in love it needs to change. That made me see that romantic love ppl talk about is in fact infatuation/ lust and love that makes connections work is all the same.
