Well, @nytimes at it again w/misleading, irresponsible headlines https://t.co/B2d3QDxCkl
AHRQ https://t.co/uIliB4ChlK looks at 20 yrs of papers to estimate diagnostic errors
Lead should be:"ED evaluations pick up 99.7% of serious diagnoses" but, who would read about success? 🧵
@gbosslet The other day a resident told me there’s literature that supports saying the ‘Q’ word has no impact on ED patient volume. Then yesterday I invoked the ‘Q’ word when I arrived. 6 hrs and 23 patients later I regretted it.
It’s been a great day, blessed to receive dose 1/2 @pfizer COVID
Vaccine, jammed out to @32KTib mRNA playlist and topping it off with @Skyline_Chili for dinner!!
Residency applicants:
There is no ‘list’
No ‘top 10’
There isn’t a best
Or a worst
There is no one person or site that can tell you which programs to seek and which to avoid
There isn’t ‘right’, only ‘right for you’
So take a deep breath, relax, and go forth...

#teamworkmakesthedreamwork@IU_Surgery & @IUSMEmergMed started simulation team training 2years ago for PGY1 classes to encourage cross-specialty teamwork and collaboration. The simulation training was well-received, but the camaraderie that continues is priceless.

Had a great shift recently with 3 long time faculty colleagues. We all started 20 years ago in the ED at Wishard Hospital before it was @EskenaziHealth, @IUSMEmergMed was a brand new department and we were the first EM docs to ever work in that department.
We are thrilled to share that Dr. Ernestine Chaco @Ernestine_Chaco, one of our EM residents, will be a keynote speaker at the Coalition for Health Equity Conference. This Zoom conference is on 10/3 - for more information and to register visit https://t.co/5qzO55TC4m
