I was proud to cut the ribbon on another renovated @IndyParksandRec park. Community members on the northeast side can now enjoy Sahm Parkโs enhanced amenities like the new playground and pickleball courts.
No matter the season, weather conditions, or time of day, the men and women of @indydpw consistently show up to keep our city moving. That is why I was proud to celebrate their hard work at the annual DPW Employee Appreciation Luncheon.
Help is a phone call away.
During a mental health crisis, it may seem easier to isolate and not seek assistance. However, your friends, family, neighbors, and community are here to help uplift you through difficult times.
And if you need emergency assistance, please donโt hesitate to call 911.
Portions of central Indiana generally south of I-70 have been upgraded to a slight risk for severe weather this afternoon with damaging winds the primary threat. Multiple rounds of storms are possible with the severe threat likely to end later this evening from the west. #INwx
Great to see the progress on the city's first low-barrier shelter. The Housing Hub will not only provide shelter for our unhoused neighbors, but it will also be a centralized location for essential resources & housing placement support to help folks get on a more stable path.
We're so excited to share that the Housing Hub has gone vertical!
Indy's first low-barrier shelter and housing navigation center will be getting nearly $2.8 million dedicated to it in our proposed 2027 budget, and it is on track to open next year, complete with 150 beds and a pet facility!
We can't wait to share more as progress continues.
Happy to stop by the @JacksonforIndy Pathways Resource Center event this afternoon. Events like this remind us of the importance of prioritizing mental health.
Great to open the transformed Georgia Street this morning. Over the past decade, Georgia Street has become the signature gathering place for Indyโs celebrations. The next phase of this space ensures that Indianapolis remains a top host city for the largest events in the country.
Since 2022, Indianapolis has seen consecutive years of declines in gun violence, thanks in large part to efforts such as the Hospital Violence Intervention program. Yesterday, I was proud to announce an expansion of this program at @RileyChildrens.
Earlier today, I joined @IFD_NEWS for the Annual Reading of the Names Memorial Service. May we always remember and honor the service of these fallen heroes who bravely served the Indianapolis community.
Itโs a pleasure to celebrate another step for the One Health Innovation District. As crews are putting the final touches on the Greenlawn Memorial Bridge, this groundbreaking represents continued progress on the expansion of the west Side of Downtown.
It was a pleasure recognizing the countless contributions of Indyโs German community today at Germanfest. Stop by the @AthenaeumIndy before 6:30 to join in the festivities.
Honored to see so many partners at this yearโs State of Downtown. Over the last decade, we have invested in our cityโs core with intention and the momentum is tangible. Downtown continues to grow and innovate- and we will keep building a city center that welcomes every generation
I was thrilled to cut the ribbon on another affordable housing development in Indianapolis. The Ralston Hills Townhomes, a direct product of initiatives like Vacant to Vibrant, demonstrate the Cityโs commitment to creating a housing ecosystem for all residents.
