Some things the British media and political class have reacted hysterically to during Israel's genocide:
- The Maccabi Tel Aviv fan ban
- Bob Vylan
- Gary Lineker
- The Green Party motion
Something they have not reacted hysterically to:
- The genocide
Palantir is monitoring MPs who dare to criticise them 👁️
MP Clive Lewis just received a creepy letter from Tom Watson specifically referencing his 130+ anti-Palantir remarks
If Palantir is so trustworthy, why are they intimidating those who criticise them?

For the first time, Ed Sheeran’s public shaming shows there may be a price to pay for demonstrating cowardice on the issue of genocide.
That is important. For three years, the billionaire class that rule over us have used the blunt instrument of their financial muscle – force – to dominate not only the political discourse about Gaza but the cultural one too.
The billionaires – the Robert Krafts – own the platforms on which our cultural life is expressed: the legacy media, social media, Hollywood, music labels, publishing houses, venues, and so on.
They use that power to great effect: to prevent any real criticism of the neoliberal capitalist order that enriches them, of the war industries they own that levelled Gaza, of the empire they built that endlessly pillages others’ resources and is rapidly undermining the conditions for life on the planet.
Their stranglehold over our cultural spaces, enforcing a silence against the genocide, is designed to encourage fans to assume that artists and celebrities have little sympathy for the suffering for the Palestinians and reject the idea that Israel is carrying out a genocide.
In a western culture where, rightly or wrongly, large parts of the public see their preferred artists and celebrities as role models, and often look to them for guidance, this enforced silence is exploited by the ruling class as its alibi for inaction.
The cost of pointing out what we can all see in Gaza has been simply too high: no chance of that first big break; calls unreturned; lost work; cancelled contracts; antisemitism smears.
In short, pariahdom.
Macklemore may finally have chipped away at that calculation. In his confrontation with Sheeran, he comes out smelling of roses – and Sheeran emerges as a snivelling toad.
Billionaires punishing artists for taking an honourable stance against genocide – as has happened with actors such as Susan Sarandon and Melissa Barrera, and musicians such as Zarah Larsson and CMAT – has a purpose. It is intended to send a powerful message to others that they should keep their heads down.
Now Sheeran’s shaming has sent a counter-message to his fellow creatives. Being pimped by the billionaires in support of genocide is a bad look.
This is an extract from my latest article Ed Sheeran just learnt: Being pimped by the billionaires for genocide is a bad look. Find a link to the rest in the reply post ⬇️
@tom_watson Always been a sell out. Shameful individual who played a key role in ousting his own party leader. No surprise you ended up taking a role such as this. A man with no principles who stands for nothing.

BREAKING: Keir Starmer resigns as MP for Holborn and St Pancras.
He came, conquered and destroyed... the left, then his own party and premiership.
All whilst supporting genocide and alienating nearly every single person in Great Britain.
He will be missed by absolutely no one.
Wow, Bryan Robson being interviewed pitchside and TNT cut to show a range random people in the crowd while he's talking. Pathetic coverage @footballontnt@tntsports
I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.
England's social care capital thresholds are being frozen AGAIN for 2026/27.
The upper limit remains £23,250 and the lower limit £14,250.
For permanent care-home residents, having assets above the upper limit can mean being responsible for the full cost of their care.
While the cost of living, and the cost of care, has risen, these thresholds have remained stuck.
Social care isn't somebody else's problem. Any one of us, or someone we love, could need it.
How much longer can families afford for meaningful social care reform to be delayed?
