🇺🇲🫡 This is what America is made of. A young soldier holding it together as his proud father pins that flag on his shoulder — the weight of duty, family, and sacrifice all in one moment. Thank you to every service member and every military family who raises them. Real strength. Real pride. God bless our troops. #USArmy #ProudToServe #AmericanStrength

Medal of Honor
I've always believed you can learn a lot about life just by paying attention to the people everyone else overlooks.
There was a man like that at the Air Force Academy for years. Quiet fellow. Worked the floors, handled doors, kept things running without much notice. Cadets walked past him every day like he was part of the building itself.
No spotlight. No fuss.
Most of them never thought twice about him.
What they didn't realize-what I find humbling every time I think about it-is that this man had already lived through something most of us can't even fully imagine.
Back in 1943, in the hills of Italy, everything had come to a standstill. Enemy machine guns had the area locked down tight. The kind of situation where moving forward felt like signing your own papers.
But he moved anyway.
Alone, under heavy fire, he went straight at those positions and knocked them out, one by one, clearing the way so others could keep going. Then he vanished. Word came back that he hadn't made it.
Turns out, he had-just not in the way anyone hoped. Captured. Spent time as a prisoner of war before finally making it home.
For what he did, he received the Medal of Honor.
Now, most folks-I think it's fair to say-would carry a story like that front and center for the rest of their lives.
He didn't.
He kept it to himself.
Years later, a cadet doing some digging connected the dots and realized that the
quiet janitor everyone passed without a glance was one of the very men they studied in history books.
That'll stop you in your tracks if you let it.
What I respect most is this: nothing about him changed. No speeches, no chest-puffing, no reminders of who he was or what he'd done.
Just showed up, did his job, and went home.
He passed away in 2000 at 81 years old.
And the more I think about it, the medal matters-but maybe not as much as the example he set without ever trying to.
I've carried this with me: you really don't know who you're standing next to. Could be someone who's seen more, done more, and sacrificed more than you'll ever realize.
Might be worth looking up once in a while. 🇺🇸🇺🇸

Absolutely right, Eugene! 🇺🇲 Men like Brent Tucker — 20 years of service, Delta Force legend, 13 combat deployments, and still charging into a 1v4 against Al Qaeda — are the reason we can sleep free at night. Purple Heart earned the hard way. Home of the Free because of the Brave. These warriors are the best of us. Thank you for shining the light on them. #DeltaForce #USMilitary #Respect
Training today for dominance tomorrow. 💪

🇺🇸 Today we honor the fallen and stand with those still in the fight. From the beaches of Normandy to the mountains of Afghanistan, American warriors have always answered the call with courage, sacrifice, and unbreakable resolve. To every service member, veteran, and their families: Thank you for carrying the weight so the rest of us can live free. We will never forget. We will never stop supporting you. #SupportOurTroops #NeverForgotten
🇺🇸Honoring the Greatest Generation on the eve of D-Day. U.S. Army Rangers, fully loaded with M1 Garands and a bazooka, seated in a landing craft at an English port, June 1944. These warriors were minutes from boarding their vessels and heading into history on Omaha Beach. Their courage changed the world. We will never forget. #DDay #Normandy #RangersLeadTheWay #GreatestGeneration
