All systems, planets and moons marked by the Infestation now carry the [INFESTATION] designation. This system represents territory under Infestation influence and serves as proof of presence.

Uthmi Beta has a large number of supply depots. Many of the supplies in these depots do not get used and go to waste. These abandoned supplies accumulate runaway mould however and become unuseable, weakning planet defence capabilities. This allow the Infestation to spread further.

Lifeforms on the planet Uthmi Beta requested drop pods. After use, the drop pods were left unattended causing runaway mould buildup. The drops pods later became infested, dooming the planet.

An Infested Freighter has crash landed on the planet Uthmi Beta.

By the time the various races had discovered the Infestation on board their freighters, it was already too late.

Derelict freighters became a hive for the Infestation. The Infestation's growth continued as the freighter drifted through the silence of space.

Doomed freighters that came crashing down onto planets brought the Infestation with them. The Infestation was now free to spread across the entire planet, it's bodies of water and infest the flora and fauna.

Aeons later, these planets would be completely transformed and become an infested paradise or a toxic horror.

Ifery Platform - A Manufacturing Facility on the planet Uthmi Beta has been infested.

Negligent maintenance crews failed to clean and sanitise machinery. Runaway Mould buildup accumulated quickly. Lifeforms unable to contain the Infestation initiated emergency evacuation procedures and abandoned their facilities before they themselves became infested. The Infestation spread regardless and was now free to infest entire planets.

A Trading Post on the Planet Uthmi Beta has been overrun by the Infestation.

Specimens (Viscous Fluid, Residual Goop, Living Slime) that never sold on planets and in space stations would evolve whilst in storage unti it reached it's final stage - Runaway Mould. It is from this stage that the infestation process and cycle would repeat itself. Causing outposts and space stations to be overrun by the infestation.

An Ancient Ruin on the planet Uthmi Beta has been infested.

The Infestation has existed for aeons. At first it was a fungal endolith, dormant inside asteroids that littered the infinite space. Then it mutated due to the presence of tritium in the asteroids. Dig crews harvested asteroids for their metal content and unknowingly brought the endolith on board their freighters and space stations where it would continue to evolve.

An Alien Monolith, on the planet Uthmi Beta has been infested.

Anley Station - a Transmission Tower on the planet Uthmi Beta has been overrun by the Infestation.

By the time the various lifeforms of the galaxies had discovered the Infestation and tried to communicate warnings to others, it was already too late. They were claimed by the Infestation and became one with it.

@NoMansSky We've written lore on the origins of the infestation on our discord using in-game items as building blocks and added our own creativity. We are a faction in the game that roleplays how we think that the infestation should be portrayed in the entire game. Please check it out :)

The Infestation exists everywhere in the infinity of space. Where civilisations establish territory - it appears. Where expansion occurs - it follows. You can only resist the Infestation for so long.

What happened at this outpost? Was it negligence? Or a failed experiment? It doesn't matter to the Infestation. Failing to prevent it's spread was the beginning of the end for this outpost.

The various lifeforms sought out the infestation to harvest nanites in order to produce advanced technologies. The infestation mutated to combat and defend it's spore against them - producing biological horrors that would defend these nests at all costs.
