On this day in 2021, the Maple Leafs completed their choke job vs the Montreal Canadiens in the First Round after leading the series 3-1. Six years later, Toronto’s Stanley Cup Drought extends to 59 years.
Either way, an Ex-Leaf is winning the cup, and neither were alive the last time Toronto won the Stanley Cup. Toronto media scapegoated Freddie and Marner for the Leafs playoff failures, but they both carried their teams to the 2026 Stanley Cup Finals.

@BoltsBreakdown I think every fanbase is looking at Vegas’ constant coach turnover and wants their teams to copy them and expects the same results. I’ll admit, I turned against in the first week after the loss, but that was emotional analysis, which is usually illogical.
@BoltsBreakdown As for playoffs, winning a Stanley Cup Coach that can still lead a team to the playoffs should be safe. But coaches like Keefe (when with the Leafs) and Hines (Wild coach) have only made it past the first round once respectively, so they should be fired (Keefe was)
@BoltsBreakdown Good question. Here are some examples. Pete Deboer lost the Stars when he threw Ottenger under the bus vs Edmonton last year. He’s a great coach, but that does not matter if you lost the locker room.
