Not actually an inflatable convention, but the name was too good to pass up.
Organizing mini events and bringing fans of air filled squeaky toys together
How do we feel about Southampton Common? It's a big park area, not many people, lots of more out-the-way spots where we could put a few big inflatables and hang out with them, and the city itself is centrally located within the surrounding area.
The website at https://t.co/0SkTHsNZuB is still a bit small and empty, what else would we like to see on there?
Though, at least it has links to social media and chats and such already, even if the rest is still placeholder text
@Renazard2 Always surprised there's not a dedicated london area inflatey meet, must be a lot of people interested that can get to it, but I guess venue hire is too expensive there?
I'm down on the south coast doing stuff, if you're elsewhere in the country, why not get your own events together? you can even get in touch or check out the chat groups to help organise and advertise them
My first every pooltoy meet was at CFz on Saturday, brought one of my dergies along for everyone to have a ride :3
An official UK pooltoy community and pool meet is a ๐ ๐จ๐ฆ๐ง!
There's still plenty more https://t.co/N53X0E4GXM stickers left, what should I do with them?
Anyone going to some events soon where they could hand a few out?
Scan this QR code to visit the https://t.co/N53X0E498e website, where things have started being put together, but there's still more needed. What else do you think we should add to the site?
Website is up and running at https://t.co/0SkTHsNZuB, mostly for now just hosting links to social media and chat groups, but other information is slowly being added to it.
Work is currently underway to find a venue for our biggest event so far. Looking for a pool we can make use of and overnight accommodation, but options are limited.
Summer is coming back again, we can arrange events to hang out at parks or beaches around the country with our toys. Who would come along to such a thing?
I've run inflatable fan events across Hampshire and Sussex in recent years, and can easily get to Kent to host more (the one I ran in Oxford was maybe a bit too far)
But to expand further, more people will need to sign up to organise things for their own areas. Who's in?
@Orcafan_2002 These are old photos from past events, but the next one I know of is a small part of @FurtherSouthUK, they're in Portsmouth in a couple of months.
As well as running our own dedicated events, there's always inflatey fun around furry conventions.
I think @Scotiacon_Info is full now, but I know @FurtherSouthUK has space (and few enough other people we could take over the whole thing for pool toy shenanigans)
@LoonerRay and @MontzFox we should get some chat group set up to plan, I've heard from a couple other people as well that seem interested. Would you have a preference for what service to chat on?
