Inflex is going in a new direction (https://t.co/8KEI299kt0). I put away our beefy cloud servers, no more SaaS. It's switching to being a desktop app (Windows, Linux, macOS) and will release a Linux version first. More blog posts to come.
Started a discourse here:

For documenting Inflex and starting a community feel.
(The previous one was hella expensive, but this one is way cheaper and can be run indefinitely.)
Everything in Inflex is backed by source code, the single source of truth. Here you can edit a document as rich text, or as code. Most people won't touch the code, but that doesn't change its value!
Upcoming: Rich text editing with cells embedded (text, numbers, tables, anything). Now you can tell a story with prose that reacts when the calculations or the data change. And you can change the cells from within the rich text, too.
@stevekrouse Not Inflex. His prototypes and talks are always thought provoking, though! Our bibliography is here: https://t.co/ogZfnA5xqn I do think it's nice to credit your direct inspirations.
Up next: do you find yourself staring at your code wondering what it’s doing? We do. That’s why we’re adding step-by-step view for formulas of cells. Simple example:
add5(2 * 3)
(x: x + 5)(2 * 3)
(x: x + 5)(6)
6 + 5
11
More advanced version will be shown in a video later!

@notquiteamonad Hi, yes, we’re currently moving things around, I plan on putting comprehensive documentation on the web site. For the time being I’ve written up some short notes for Haskellers looking to kick the tires https://t.co/8RAJViRNSb
Work in progress CSV import feature - it'll guess the types of fields (integer, decimal of n places, or text -- dates to come later!) and also nullability. Sometimes data is missing: explicit about it is important for honesty. ☝️

We're changing to an open beta (no early access request needed), you can register and try Inflex immediately for free for the duration of the beta https://t.co/8KEI298MDs We're still working on adding a few core features, stay tuned. #haskell#spreadsheets#fp
@zark_khullah@elvecent_not@andrestaltz It's not open source at the moment. We might progress to open core. But when you're early on and self-funded like us it's a too heavy cost to support open source and also move fast on the tech. Let me (@christopherdone) add that to an FAQ on our homepage, thanks for asking.
Use variants with hashtags like #employee or #contractor to specify choice in your data. 🪄 The traditional way of adding more columns to your table and trying to remember to fill in the appropriate fields doesn't help you avoid mistakes.

We've invited our first 70 people to the Beta version.
If you didn't sign up for early access this is the link: https://t.co/iMQ2fsl2ia
The invites will come by email from our discourse at https://t.co/gNd0GEyvvs
Looking forward to hearing your feedback 😀
