Huge thank you to @SheepVetsoc for having me to talk about our work on OvHV-2 at their Autumn meeting in Glasgow. Some great talks and a lovely conference 🐑
@RobinFlynn20 I feel as though public backing should only have this much weight on decisions as critical as abolishing animal work if it can be shown they truly understand a) what actually goes on with animal work and b) why we have to use animal models. It’s hidden too much in the shadows 🌘

Contributing to the story that Omicron appears to be less pathogenic. It will be interesting to see more studies on this and see how it translates to #LongCovid in the new year
With yet another in vivo study of Omicron infection today, it sure is looking that this variant has less virulence, less chance of inducing Covid pneumonia👍

Added to our immunity wall and T cell defense, this is all good.
New data from our amazing team showing Omicron produces less severe disease than Pango B and Delta SARS-CoV-2 variants in a mouse model 🐭 https://t.co/MZqS32wxZk
Data from @molvirol lab shows K18-hACE2 mice infected with #SARS_CoV_2#Omicron variant lose less weight, show recovery and have lower viral loads than animals infected with Delta or PangoB viruses https://t.co/itatnoxpX2 @_AndrewOwen_@LivUni_IVES
