It's not often that a vendor removes itself from the software market but @Syncsort has a habit of acquiring them: first Trillium from Harte-Hanks and now Pitney Bowes Software: #MutableBusiness@BloorResearch

What's the problem with low-code? 🤷♂️
Despite the strong opposition to it from many developers, you can still write good code while avoiding the more trivial aspects. My blog post for @BloorResearch looks at why low-code shouldn't be feared: https://t.co/09ZX7CRagq
MapR was dying. Its remains have been acquired by HP. Given HP's execrable record with software companies that looks like the kiss of death. Total expiration expected shortly.
My Latest on diginomica. https://t.co/ttl2Of7Jdg Are #Hiring Decisions ready for #AI? How #Repeatable#Algorithms Can Hurt People. (error in the title, it should be Repeatable)
@NovasTaylor @kurt_cagle Interesting articles. Some databases omitted, some inaccuracies, focus on SPARQL versus Cypher, but worth reading. Will have to research 4th Graph Database report.
Is Hadoop on life support?
Serious problems at Mapr and Cloudera, two of their biggest commercial supporters are pointing towards a downward spiral, and the prognosis isn’t great. @BloorResearch#MutableBusiness

I recently attended @Tableau’s European User Conference. The three days were full of announcements (far too many to get in to a tweet), so I’ve written a blog for @BloorResearch outlining the big developments: https://t.co/SxbgaxKDqd

I was at @tableau's European User Conference recently, and while I'm still sceptical of @salesforce's claims they will remain independent, there are reasons to be cheerful, in true Ian Dury fashion (part 3): https://t.co/IRHpGLweBN @BloorResearch#MutableBusiness
Very excited to announce that the first episodes of #BloorTV are now available to watch online. Hear expert opinion from some of our great team, including @Bevanp4, @InfoPhil, @DT and @rjsykes1! https://t.co/ydab9eOUVf #MutableBusiness

Crap service from BA: in back of plane and they ran out of food. Told that this happens for all dinner time flights. Don't even need AI or analytics to rectify that, just some common sense. Obviously BA lacks that.
Estimates are that AlphaGo consumed 1 million watts in beating its human opponent. The typical human brain consumes 20 watts. Sort of puts AI into perspective!
Ali's acquisition of Attunity on top of their Podium acquisition a while back takes Qlik into data management (replication, data prep, catalog) and DW Automation markets as well as BI. With the focus on data science & data management it seems BI on its own is not enough!
Redis has published a benchmark comparing RedisGraph with TigerGraph. It states that for certain queries it is 2X and 0.8X faster. An innovative use of the word "faster". I would like to claim that I am faster than Usain Bolt (though not by as much 0.8)!
I addressed a group in Durham today on “An Ethical Framework for #AI,” this is where my head is.AGI is distant but we have to figure out it. If you’re in #ML/AI, grow up and take responsibility for what you’re developing and/or implementing. AI-Now is fraught with ethical issues
