Built-ins are part of the shell. They look like executables, but there is no file in the filesystem that is loaded and executed to do what they do. Instead the work is done as part of the shell. e.g “pwd” command
static hostname - default host name for the system and is configured in the /etc/hostname file.
transient hostname - the name that is set for the system by services like DHCP or mDNS after a system boot.
