Let me appreciate Nigerian women for a minute. ❤️🇳🇬
Living abroad hits differently.
You start noticing things and suddenly value home more.
I keep seeing comments like:
“White ladies don’t like money.”
“They only want coffee dates.”
“Nigerian women are greedy and only want your money.”
Who sold y’all these lies? 😂
I’ve seen women here in Canada 🇨🇦 smoke, vape, and use weed openly, including a colleague who returned from maternity leave and was still smoking while breastfeeding.
That moment reminded me:
The devil you know is better than the angel you imagine.
Our women have flaws, no doubt. But stop overhyping foreign women while acting like Nigerian women have nothing to offer.
Every society has its own problems. Appreciate what you have without insulting what you don’t fully know.
Nigerian women, una try. ❤️🇳🇬

FG Inaugurates Joint Task Team to Protect Health Investments
Abuja, Nigeria | 17 August 2026
The Federal Government has inaugurated a Joint Task Team of the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to strengthen preventive controls and protect investments in Nigeria’s health sector.
The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, said the initiative reflects a shift from responding to wrongdoing after it occurs to identifying vulnerabilities early, closing loopholes and strengthening systems before public resources are lost.
“Every naira invested in our health system carries an obligation: to reach the facility, the health worker, and the Nigerian whose life depends on it. When those resources are diverted, the cost is not abstract. It is a medicine that never arrives, equipment that is unavailable when needed, or a service that falls short. In this sector, corruption can cost lives,” he said.
Prof. Pate described the Joint Task Team as “an instrument for institutional change”, explaining that its mandate is centred on identifying institutional vulnerabilities, strengthening preventive controls and improving oversight across the health sector.
Under BHCPF 2.0, the Federal Government has deployed 774 Performance and Financial Management Officers, one to every Local Government Area, to independently verify the receipt and utilisation of funds. Verified National Identification Numbers are also being used to strengthen beneficiary authentication and reduce duplication, while digitalisation is improving transparency and traceability.
The Task Team builds on the Federal Government’s Red Letter of October 2025, which called on communities and ward health committees to track whether BHCPF funds reach their facilities. The Joint Task Team now adds structured institutional oversight to that citizen vigilance.
The Joint Task Team will conduct assessments following each quarterly disbursement of the Basic Health Care Provision Fund, with the BHCPF Secretariat serving as its Secretariat. The Team is co-chaired by the Director of Hospital Services, representing the Ministry, and a Director of the ICPC, with membership drawn from relevant supervising offices and departments. The Memorandum of Understanding runs for two years, subject to renewal.
The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Daju Kachollom S. mni, said protecting health-sector resources is fundamental to the Ministry’s mandate to save lives, reduce the physical and financial pain of ill-health, and produce health for all Nigerians. “This is a Team designed to be embedded in how the Ministry already works, not to sit outside it,” she said.
The Chairman of the ICPC, Dr. Musa Adamu Aliyu, represented by the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Mr. Clifford Oparaodu, said the partnership strengthens preventive oversight of health-sector resources, particularly the BHCPF. “Corruption in the health sector is not measured only in financial losses or accounting irregularities. The losses are measured in maternal and infant mortality rates, rates of immunisation, mortality from preventable diseases, easy and affordable access to medical care at all levels,” he said.
The Coordinating Minister, alongside the Chairman of the ICPC, formally inaugurated the Joint Task Team.
The Federal Government remains committed to ensuring that every investment in health is protected, properly utilised and translated into better health outcomes for Nigerians.

Ado Bako Assistant Director, Information and Public Relations
When I moved into this compound, there was no proper place to spread clothes, so I spent ₦75k to erect two poles with wires.
I hadn't even used them once before my neighbours started spreading their clothes there.
Yesterday, I washed my clothes, only to find the space occupied. Later that evening, another neighbour had spread clothes there again.
I removed the clothes, put them on the fence, and took down my poles and wires.
This evening, my neighbours asked me on the compound WhatsApp group:
“Why did you remove the poles that the whole compound has been using?”
HOW TO PUT YOUR BUSINESS ON GOOGLE MAPS
If your business is not on Google Maps, you are losing customers every day without knowing it.
The good news is that it is completely free to add your business. With your business on google maps, it would be easy for people to locate and save you the stress of long explanations.
Here is how to do it step by step from your phone:
Step 1: Go to Google Business Profile
Open your Chrome browser and go to business. google. com. Sign in with your Google account. If you do not have one, create one for free.
Step 2: Add your business
Click or tap "Add your business to Google." Enter your business name exactly as it appears on your signage or receipts.
Step 3: Choose your business category
Select the category that best describes what your business does. For example, "Cyber Cafe", "Restaurant", "Fashion Store", or "Supermarket". This helps Google show your business to the right people.
Step 4: Add your location
Enter your full business address. Once entered, Google will place a pin on the map. Drag the pin to the exact location of your business if it is slightly off. This is important for people navigating to you.
Step 5: Add your phone number and website
Enter your business phone number. If you have a website, add it too. If you do not have a website, skip it.
Step 6: Verify your business: Google needs to confirm that your business is real and located where you say it is. The most common verification method is a short video recording. You will be asked to walk around your business, show your signage, entrance, and proof that you operate there. Record it in daylight in one continuous take with your sign clearly visible. Submit and wait for approval.
Step 7: Complete your profile: While waiting for verification, fill in everything else. Add your opening and closing hours, upload real photos of your business, write a short description of what you offer, and list your services or products. A complete profile ranks higher and attracts more customers.
Once verified, your business will appear on Google Maps and anyone searching for what you offer near your location will find you.
It is free. It takes less than 30 minutes. And it works 24 hours a day bringing customers to you without you lifting a finger.
Above all, love God.
If you forgive him Egbon, it will not be well with you.
I made a tweet yesterday but I deleted it because I wasn't sure how true the info was.
This scamming yardrat @OgbeniDipo who spends everyday denigrating hardworkers was actually sacked twice, couldn't keep a Heathrow security guard role, has only one last resort - to remain a political lapdog.
Charlatans can only pretend for so long. Eventually, who you really are stays on the surface.
When you could no longer scam with CVs, you opened consultancy firm - when your head is too empty to consult, you became a me guard. You were falling in your UK bathroom every saturday, so you definitely couldn't keep the security guard role.
And please remove that Dr from your name. You're not a Dr.
It doesn't matter how much a person runs from who they are - you've eventually circled back to the crux of your DNA. A scamming political lapdog.
Who goes from a high flying lecturer to becoming whatever hotmess you currently are? Exactly.
Now that you've used your last card to buy plan tickets for an election you didn't win. I hope your Odeomu king can find you a plot of land so you can start mechanized ewedu farming.
Nle, omo Banky W.
Hmmnn. Let me answer with a story.
Once upon a time in 1999, I had an IDEA: I wanted to build a yoghurt company.
For years, I experimented until I finally got the formula I wanted. People loved the yoghurt, and by 2007, I was producing it from my kitchen.
But I needed a factory.
Someone gave me a place to start. We tried, struggled, and eventually closed it down.
I thought my biggest problem was MONEY.
Then in 2010, I met a billionaire who became my friend. One day, I decided I would tell him about my yoghurt IDEA and possibly ask him for money.
As I opened my mouth, something inside me screamed:
“Shut up dia!” 😂
I began to stammer.
He looked at me and said, “Okay. I hope you will tell me when you are ready.”
So I pursued other ideas instead: an art gallery, shoe making and others.
They failed too.
Then in 2017, someone gave me money. plenty MONEY.
Ah! I thought our problem was finally solved.
We started again. We had equipment, trucks and even added water production.
But there was another problem:
MANAGEMENT.
I couldn't be at the factory every day because I was still working.
While I was funding salaries from my pocket, some of the people managing the business were feasting on the sales.
One manager was reportedly eating a whole chicken almost every day. 😂
I was becoming lean from stress while some of my staff were living large from my business!
Eventually, we closed again.
About eight months later, we started another business just two streets from our home at Aguda.
We hired a skilled manager who could make shawarma, fish and finger foods.
Same story.
Money was disappearing.
So I called a young man who had worked with us before and planted him in the shop as a “cleaner.”
After closing one evening, he came home and told us:
“They are sharing the money.”
“Ahhh! Yeeehhh!” my wife screamed. 😂
I told her to calm down.
We asked the young man to understudy the manager for two weeks. Afterwards, we fired the dishonest team and put him in charge.
We continued growing and eventually moved into a bigger space.
But even after that, another manager began telling customers that HE owned the business and that I was merely on ground in Nigeria while he is based in the UK. 😂
He started collecting our yoghurt money directly from supermarkets and even borrowing money from people using the business telling he was stranded because of Covid.
He too was eventually fired.
I can go on and on.
So if you ask me which is most critical:
IDEA. MONEY. MANAGEMENT.
All three matter.
But a brilliant idea with money and terrible management can still become a brilliant failure.
Money can buy machines, trucks, ingredients and buildings.
It cannot buy integrity.
Today, I understand that one of the greatest assets of any business is the right people, supported by the right systems, controls and accountability.
Good people helped turn our business around.
As an entrepreneur, pray for good people—but don't stop at prayer.
Build systems that protect the business even when you are not there.
"Let Oyetola hear. Let him know the reason why we defeated him. The only reason why we defeated Oyetola is not that we are bigger or that we spent more money than him. On election day, we didn't spend any money. They spent 60 billion, as we heard. In some places, they bought most votes for as high as 50,000 naira for a single vote. On the day of the election, when I heard the kind of money they were spending, I went back to my little corner in my room, and I knelt down, and I prayed to God. I said, God Almighty, let people collect their money, but let them still vote for Ademola Adeleke.
And I will just want everyone to do my routine. When I need God to pray every day, I have some Bible passages and verses that I read and that I pray with. And this is part of my testimony. The fourth Bible passage that I read every day when I go on my knees to pray is found in Isaiah chapter 41, starting from verse 10. And when I finish reading this, you know that I'm not the reason why I'm not afraid of anything. You know the reason why I am not bothered about anything. Because I believe my belief in God Almighty is very strong. And that's why you don't see me running after people in high places or competing with people to go and visit anyone. I would rather do it in my little corner. I would rather ask God Almighty to help me." Davido's billionaire father opened up about the specific scriptures he prayed with daily during his brother Ademola Adeleke's Osun re-election battle.

He's truly a role model to young people.
This is Alhaji Ahmed Sani Yerima….. He was the first to declare his state a sharia state…. The curious question though… is…. Did he do it because he was a devout Muslim or was it a political survival stunt.
The strongman of Zamfara was an ex general called Aliyu Mohammed Gusau…. One time commander of the 9th infantry brigade….. director of military intelligence (DMI)… director of Defense Intelligence and Chief of army staff…. ( He also played an active role in the Buhari and Babangida coup of 1983 and 1985)
Aliyu was from Zamfara state…. When the country returned to democracy in 1999, he positioned himself to be a godfather in his home state… He was then in the PDP party and fronted his candidate for office (Mallam Yahaya Abdulkarim)…. APP won the election and Alhaji Yerima emerged as the governor….
This totally upset Gusau…. He saw Zamfara as a state that should be under his control…. At the time, he was the NSA to president OBJ…. Gusau started to keep a tab on Yerima…. Had people on his payroll that reported all his actions… meetings… contracts and invoice payments he approved….
This got Yerima very uncomfortable…. When top members of the ruling party called to mediate between the two…. Yerima said he was sure Gusua would seek his fall, regardless of the mediation…. But he was prepared for the war and would make himself untouchable…. Nobody understood what he meant by the comment but they soon realized.
He went back to his state, mobilized the mallams and signed into law a sharia system of government strict on the penal code… which included cutting off hands for theft and stoning for adultery. This eventually became a precedent for sharia system in 12 other states using Zamfara as precedent. (Thank heavens this did not spread to the south)
OBJ was uncomfortable with sharia system unfolding in the North…. He however could do nothing to stop it… fearing that as a Christian, if he tried to stop Sharia, it could be used against him as a direct attack on Islam.
Sharia system in the North is a form of totalitarianism… all aspect of individual freedom is placed under the authority of the state… what you can drink… when you must fast…. Pray…. Who you can be romantically involved with…. What music you can listen to (or even if you can listen to music at all)….. It is a great way to keep Hausa people under strict surveillance and in perpetual bondage while the ruling class remain above the law.
The penal code had existed in the North since the early 1800’s… the ruling class however rarely subject themselves to the penal code….
In the early 1900’s… when the Sadaurna (then a district head) was accused of corruption by Sultan Siddiq Abubakar and sentenced to prison… Sir Ahmadu Belo ran to the British court and hired a top tier christian Lawyer from the Southwest (Chief Bode Thomas)….The case was overturned.
Zamfara was the Base of Abd al Salam…. A Hausa military commander that mobilized his people to join the Usman Dan Fodio Jihad…. In 1817, he launched a revolt against the new Fulani caliphate when he realized that the Jihad was ethnically motivated to capture Hausa land and replace the Hausa nobility with a new Fulani nobility.
Fun fact to know…. Northwest states are the most insecure states in the country today… they have high crime rates….banditry….religious extremism and Communal clashes…. One thing for sure is that sharia did not bring peace and prosperity to the region.
UPDATE ON MY MAI SUYA: I have now found them. Apparently, someone came to buy N15,000 suya from them. He was their last customer and had bought up all the suya they had left.
When the guy was about to enter his car, armed robbers collected his keys and drove the car away. My mai suya guys were completely unaware of what had happened because, strangely, the guy never even came back to them to say that any such thing had happened.
It wasn’t until they set up the next day to start their business that they were arrested and detained on the allegation that they must have colluded with the armed robbers.
Their phones were sent to the DSS for analysis to check whether there was any communication between them and anybody leading up to the carjacking. There wasn’t.
The good news is that the guys have now been released because, apparently, the car has now been found. Their phones have yet to be returned by the DSS though.
Following their release, they asked the Police whether they could resume at their old spot and the Police advised that they wait until the DSS releases their phones and the matter is fully resolved. They have, therefore, set up temporarily on Bala Sokoto Way. They had lost business for 10 days and were already looking emaciated.
I asked if they needed a lawyer and they said they didn’t think so right now. They were empathetic to the guy that had been robbed of his car and were pleased that it had now been recovered. Thank you to @egi_nupe and @PwettyFeet who offered free legal services should they need them.
Unknown to me, there are neighbours I didn’t even know were on Twitter who have reached out to express their concerns, on the basis that they have been part of our community for years. We all, therefore, agreed that we would raise a little money to help them get back on their feet.
I went to look for the DPO today but he wasn’t there. I’ll go again tomorrow to ask about their phones.
They are out and back to striving to make an honest living. And no, I didn’t buy Suya today. That wasn’t the purpose.
Don't blame the scavengers. The govt officials should be call to account if he he cant protect govt property. A òkú will always remove Iron but law must protect govt property
I remember a lady that died during the rains a few years back.
She fell into one of the manholes that scavengers had stolen the cover. It was raining and she didn't see that it was a manhole.
The story went viral on twitter.
Again, those guys should be tried for mass murder.
Nigerian lecturers are too somehow. My Geology HOD for OAU that year, if e see you dey waka through the department with earpiece, e go use scissors, cut am.
No questions asked
This morning, after my 10 km run, my wife, my father, my brothers, cousins and in-laws gathered for breakfast to celebrate my birthday.
It felt good to sit with family, surrounded by love and hopeful for the future.
My father, Ogbueshi, prayed for me and for all of us. A remarkable man, he has committed many of the Psalms of David to memory. Even now, at the age of 100, he still wakes around 4 a.m. each day to memorise Scripture.
As he prayed that we would all live longer than him, he recited the entire Psalm 51 from memory:
"Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions."
Those are the opening words of a Psalm he knows in full by heart. Listening to him was both humbling and inspiring. It reminded me that a long life is sustained not only by good health, but also by faith, discipline and God's abundant mercy.
I thank God for the gift of another year, and for the blessing of a father whose life continues to teach us all.

So I remembered when a man was told to do "Igbele" for seven days. The woli said death is after him. He obeyed. Unfortunately, the next day while brushing his teeth with these 'Pako', some of the remnants enters his oesophagus. He couldn't breathe any longer and that was how he died in the church. Life is fragile. No man can conquer death.
May we not die young 🙏
