Helping HS and College Athletes and their Families with NCAA, NAIA and JUCO rules re: Eligibility, Recruiting, Scholarships, Transfers, and Waivers/Appeals
If an #NJCAA scholarship athlete hasn't re-signed to a 2nd year scholarship for 2026-27, they are now recruitable by any other NJCAA program effective today.
@MattBrownEP@AuburnBlazer Matt, I'm curious why you can't. How is this different than the various contracts and financial reports that you FOIA schools all across the country? Is it because it's a personnel issue?
"Recruiting can be a messy game filled with promises that are sure to be broken." This taken from our morning paper is a reminder for recruits & parents. When on campus visits, talk with current players to ask if their coaches have been straight with them re: playing time.

The Division I Transfer Portal opened today for Women's Golf and for Men's and Women's Track and Field. The Women's Golf Portal is open through June 11, while the Track and Field Portal is open through June 26.
There’s also a lot of JUCO coaches telling that same bad info to recruits that playing at the JUCO level won’t count against NCAA seasons of eligibility!
There’s a lot of bad info circulating right now about a so-called “Juco waiver” that agents are pitching to coaches as a path to eligibility for players who have none. Let’s clear this up. 🧵
In an email sent today to member schools, NCAA president Charlie Baker attached a three-page document outlining the association’s age-based, 5-year eligibility concept, along with a Q&A. It does not specifically address grandfathering current athletes.

This post is very misleading. Per NCAA DI Bylaw 15.02.6, "...The period of award of a multiyear grant-in-aid awarded to an individual may include one or more academic years of no athletically related financial aid after the first academic year in which athletically related aid is provided, including the final year of the award (e.g., 50 percent in year one, zero percent in year two, 50 percent in year three; 50 percent in year one, zero percent in year two, zero percent in year three)."
For over a decade, schools in the “power” (autonomy) conferences have been required to provide four-year scholarships, and in 2024 the NCAA mandated all DI schools do the same.
Schools cannot reduce or cancel scholarships for athletics reasons, including injuries, performance, or roster management decisions – unless a student-athlete decides to transfer.
Plus, those guaranteed scholarships have to be available to those student-athletes for 10 years after they leave college.
Teenage girls are tearing their ACLs in growing numbers, and at higher rates than their male counterparts.
Parents, researchers and trainers say teams, coaches and leagues aren't doing enough to protect the girls from this devastating injury.

HS athletes who reclassify in high school or take a gap year can hurt their NCAA eligibility if not managed properly. We specialize in providing confidential consultations about NCAA requirements and guidelines.
@tsnmike@NCAA How would you have penalized those teams? Didn’t bowl bans, recruiting restrictions and other penalties also take away opportunities from high school students in one way or another?
