Day 7: Trekked from Dingboche to Lobuche (8 km, elevation gain 650m, reaching 5050m). Scenic initial path, challenging climb to Thokla Pass. Evening spent socializing in the heated dining area. Tomorrow's trek to EBC is crucial. One trekker evacuated due to health issues.
Day 6 of our Everest Base Camp trek was an acclimatization day at 4,410m. We started with a sunrise walk in Dingboche Village, witnessing the golden snow-clad mountains. The day's hike was light, preparing us for higher altitudes ahead.
Day 5 of the Everest Base Camp trek took us from Debuche to Dingboche, covering 11.5 km in 6.5 hours. With an altitude of 4,410m, the terrain was rocky and barren, and our guide introduced natural remedies for altitude adjustment.
Starting at Namche Bazaar, we ascended to the Tyangboche Monastery, enduring steep climbs and enjoying serene moments. By evening, we reached a Debuche teahouse, exhausted but fulfilled, preparing for another day's trek towards Everest Base Camp.
Day 3 at Everest Base Camp: Acclimatization and inspiration from Aparna Prabhudesai, behavioral psychologist turned Everest summiteer, despite a bone condition. Visited the Sagarmatha Museum, reflecting on courage.
Day 2:
Phakding to Namche Bazar. Trekking through stunning Himalayan landscapes, crossing iconic suspension bridges, and soaking in the beauty of Rhododendron blooms. 🏔️
Day 1 of the Everest Base Camp trek coinciding with Nepali New Year, Vikram Samvat 2081. Bus travel from Kathmandu to Ramechhap. Took a flight on 15 seater plane from Ramechhap to Lukla which has world's most dangerous and shortest runway. Trekked 11km from Lukla to Phakding.
