REA x @InfraCorpNG x @BudgetOfficeNG x SOLARGE B.V - This week, the Federal Government of Nigeria announced a strategic leap towards local solar PV manufacturing with the signing of a co-ownership offtake agreement.

Key Objectives of this agreement:

🔌Construction of a 1GW Solar PV Factory, a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility to be constructed in Nigeria, with a target of 50% local content within the first three years.

👷‍♂️ Faclitatiin of technology transfer & job creation, as the facility will support significant capacity building, and job creation, furthering Nigeria’s energy transition and industrial policy goals.

📈 Strategic Offtake: Under the agreement, REA has committed to procure at least 200MW of solar modules per year over five years from Solarge Nigeria Ltd for the National Public Sector Solarization Initiative (NPSSI), Renewed Hope Infrastructure Development Fund (RHIDF), and other public electrification programs.
