Elliot, this attempt to twist a state policy decision into an “NDC stealing” story is weak. SIC is a state owned insurer, which means it belongs to the Republic of Ghana.

When government gives business to a state institution, it is strengthening a national asset, not doing party business. Only someone desperate to force a narrative will describe a state company as an “NDC company”.

If IMANI raises questions, that is fine. They have raised questions about every government. Questions are not evidence of wrongdoing and they certainly are not a conviction. The institutions responsible will review, as they always do.

What you also didn’t say is that under the NPP, Ghana Gas insurance was repeatedly handed to foreign aligned private companies while state institutions like SIC were sidelined.

Billions left the country with no value return. Today, government is restoring that mandate to a Ghanaian institution so the money stays in the economy.

Government majority ownership of SIC is not a scandal. It is sovereignty. It is economic nationalism. It is exactly what serious countries do when they want to protect strategic sectors.

So let’s be guided. Strengthening a state owned insurer is not corruption. What you are doing is just politics without substance.
