@80_mcswan It's what David Krakauer describes as complementary cognitive tools vs competitive cognitive tools. Complementary tools improve human intelligence whereas competitive ones essentially take the human's place. It's a very fine balance to not allow AI to take our place.
@SuzJamieson How about adding some much needed additional infrastructure such as schools, instead of putting more strain on already stretched services.
@malantrent I just wonder if it even occurred to the parents that one of them could swap with the aunt or even the child so the child would then sit with one parent...win-win in my eyes. When my 2 children were small we always booked 2 x 2 seats - 1 child with 1 parent.
Omg. Omg. Omg. Chills!!!! She did it AGAIN!!!
Oh to live on the island!!!! I want to live on the island!!!!
I love @JenniferSey !! I really do. (The funniest thing is I’m wearing one of their hats right now! 😂😂😂)
I agree with you, however if the three countries’
First Ministers claim it’s no longer a valid union this becomes
the real accelerant.
If Scotland, Wales,Northern Ireland
jointly declare that the Union no longer reflects democratic consent, the UN process accelerates dramatically.
Why?
Because it becomes
A multinational constitutional crisis, not a separatist claim.
That changes everything.
It is a real constitutional lever but one that has never been pulled because it requires coordination, courage, and timing.
Here is the exact structure.
THE THREE FIRST MINISTER TRIGGER
How Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland could jointly declare the Union no longer valid without Westminster’s permission
This is a constitutional fact rooted in
the Claim of Right (Scotland)
the Government of Wales Act (Wales)
the Good Friday Agreement (Northern Ireland)
the principle of consent recognised by the UK itself
the UN Charter
the ICCPR Article 1 (self‑determination)
None of these require Westminster’s approval.
Breakdown
1. The Union is not a single contract it is three overlapping constitutional relationships
The UK is not one union.
It is three unions..
Scotland–England Union (1707)
A treaty between two parliaments.
Ireland Great Britain Union (1800)
Later partially dissolved.
Wales England incorporation (1536–1543)
Not a treaty an annexation.
Each has its own constitutional logic.
If all three devolved governments simultaneously declare..
“The Union no longer reflects the democratic consent of our nations,”
the UK enters a multinational constitutional crisis, not a separatist dispute.
This is the key.
2. Why this matters internationally
The UN does not intervene in “internal constitutional disagreements.”
But it does intervene when..
multiple nations within a state withdraw consent the constitutional basis of the state collapses
The metropolitan government refuses democratic remedies
the people of a nation express sustained, repeated mandates
This is how Yugoslavia, Czechoslovakia, and Sudan entered the international arena.
The UK cannot veto this.
3. What the First Ministers would actually do
Step 1 A Joint Declaration of Constitutional Breakdown
A coordinated statement from..
First Minister of Scotland
First Minister of Wales
First Minister of Northern Ireland
declaring..
“The Union no longer commands democratic legitimacy in our nations.”
This is legally powerful because each nation has its own constitutional basis for self‑determination.
Step 2 A Notification to the UN Secretary General
This is the part most people don’t know..
Any sub‑state nation with a distinct constitutional identity can file a communication of constitutional breakdown.
This does not require statehood.
It requires standing, which Scotland, Wales, and NI all have.
Step 3 A Referral to the Human Rights Council
The UNHRC can open a file on
denial of self‑determination
suppression of constitutional identity
democratic obstruction
The UK cannot veto this.
Step 4 Appointment of a Special Rapporteur
Once a rapporteur is appointed, the process becomes internationalised.
The UK cannot stop this.
It can only refuse cooperation which strengthens the case.
Step 5 General Assembly consideration
If the rapporteur finds
sustained democratic mandates
constitutional incompatibility
suppression of national sovereignty
the case moves to the General Assembly.
And again..
The UK has no veto.
4. Why this route is faster than the “queue for a referendum”
Because
It bypasses Westminster
It reframes the issue as restoration, not secession
It uses international law, not UK domestic law
It leverages three nations, not one
It triggers UN mechanisms, not UK permission
This is the first time all three nations have had three independence first ministers.

So this poll is for women, because I’d like to demonstrate that a truly appalling number of us have been raped or sexually assaulted.
Please share; the more women who answer this, the more accurate it will be.
If you mean gender, say gender.
If you mean sex, say sex.
But stop using gender to overwrite sex-based language, rights, boundaries, and reality.
A woman is a female human being. “Female” refers to sex.
If your gender isn't what makes an actual woman, a woman, then it has nothing to do with actual women.
Your gender may matter to you. It does not redefine me or any other woman as somehow derivative of a man's socially constructed perception of women.
I am a woman because I am a female human being.
I am not a woman because I perform a "woman" show in public, feel womanly, use feminine pronouns, or serve as a mirror or absorption layer for someone else’s sense of self.
If that sounds like you, that ain't me. If he's a woman, that ain't me.
Sex and gender are different, so men who claim to be women and actual women are different categories of human beings. The insult and the danger to women is treating them as if they are the same, when you know they are different. We know sex and gender are different. Stop treating them as if they are the same.
So when you speak about sex and gender issues, speak plainly:
Are you talking about sex?
Or are you talking about gender?
Because if you are talking about gender, then my question is simple:
What does any man's gender have to do with me or any other woman?
If his gender does not define an actual woman, an adult female human being, as a woman, it has nothing to do with any actual women. His gender may define what he thinks about women, but it does not define any woman. His gender may use the word 'woman' as a homonym he uses metaphorically to describe himself, but it does not confer any meaning beyond himself.
Until it is explained what a man's gender has to do with me or any woman, it means nothing to me or any women.
Once again for the benefit of the colonial apologists.
The union of the crowns in 1603 just meant that the Scottish king became king of England also. One monarch wore two crowns. Two crowns = two kingdoms. That is what the ‘union’ of 1707 was supposed to ‘fix’. One kingdom = one crown. Except it didn’t happen. England wasn’t about to give up its feudal crown and the social and political system built around it. So it forced through a treaty for a single kingdom … then put Scotland under the English crown, a kind of vassal relationship for which no treaty exists.
A Bit of Extra Background
Back in the 1700’s everyone knew it was treachery. In 1708, Robert Harley, Anne’s first minister laughed about the way even England’s allies called England ‘perfidious’ (treacherous) because they had violated the treaty and laughed at the idea of binding treaty articles. Today England, pretending to be a unitary state, is still screeching about a voluntary partnership, (a concept started at the time of the Irish home rule movement), and about being a ‘new state’ created by treaty (total nonsense), because it stands to lose its Scottish colony if this comes under the scrutiny of international law. Liberation Scotland intends to see that this is exactly what happens.
The thing so many of us are still catching up with is that the union is not only a legal nullity today but was always intended - by the English state - to consist of the English state, unaltered, with the Scottish state dismantled and Scotland added to its domains. It was, from the first a con and a fraud carried out through:-
1. threatening invasion, blackmail or bribe MP’s and forcing through a treaty/partnership for a new, single state with full pomp and ceremony, commissioners, intense negotiations, articles and conditions to satisfy the Scots in favour of a union but uneasy about what it will mean for Scotland
2. Breaking Scots law by dissolving the parliament and imposing the new GB Parliament (England’s renamed) as the only legitimate parliament for the new state *before* that state has come into existence. (It never did!)
3. Preventing the Act of Salvo by the Three Estates and blocking the senior parliament, with tax, oversight and treaty responsibility, from sitting
4. Dismantling the Scottish state and placing Scotland under the English Crown
5. Renaming England with Scotland added to its dominion (dependency or colony in international law). England continues without interruption or alteration in the slightest degree.
6. Then tell a world rejecting colonialism that the new state and single kingdom of the treaty are a reality because an Act of ratification is on the UK statute books. Convince the entire legal, political and academic establishment to “ignore the evidence of their own eyes, (to quote Orwell).
7. Create an ‘orthodoxy’, internalised by even the brightest minds. This orthodoxy achieves a condition akin to the emperor’s new clothes’ whose reasoning is that if the Act of Union is law, then what it says should exist *must* be what exists. Fact, evidence, substance and the impossible contradictions between the terms, conditions and effects of the treaty/acts and reality can only be examined on the basis that the union is real as per the Act! i.e. From the p.o.v. that you must start from the premise that the naked king is wearing clothes. Our colonial reality is thus systematically ignored in favour of the lie of the union.
In the story of the emperor’s new clothes it took one child not afraid to look stupid to point out the truth .
I’ve posted this before, but there are a lot more of y’all now, and I think it’s worth repeating.
Imagine a scenario in which large numbers of white people start saying that they “feel black,” and that because of this feeling, and their enjoyment of stereotypically “black behavior,” they are now not just black themselves, but the most marginalized and vulnerable type of black person.
Imagine them insisting that they should be the main focus of all activism meant to help PoC. Imagine them having operations to darken their skin and mimic stereotypically black features. Imagine them walking around in blackface, and saying it’s the exact same thing as actually being black.
Imagine them being honored as black citizens by the White House, being summoned to talk to the President about issues facing the black community, being supported by celebrities, and having laws passed to make white people who identify as black a protected class.
Imagine these people demanding membership in black organizations, insisting that they receive a share of the reparations that CA is about to pay, and demanding they be given awards created specifically to honor black achievement. Then imagine them getting their way.
Now imagine mobs of them showing up to black events that don’t include them, carrying threatening signs and air horns to drown out any speakers with noise. Imagine them coming up with slurs for any black person who doesn’t accept that white people are black if they say they are.
Imagine them calling for the rape, torture, and mass murder of any black person who disagrees with them. Imagine them getting black people doxxed, harassed, assaulted, fired from their jobs, and investigated by the police for saying that you have to be born black to be black.
Now imagine the government supporting their demands.
That’s exactly the position that women are in right now, with a few extras, like being locked in cells with dangerous men, the sexual predation of lesbians via coercion, and the increased risk of sexual assault in what used to be female-only spaces. Our oppressors are now claiming not only the right to oppress us in whole new ways, but the right to erase our identities as women and rewrite the meaning of womanhood in ways that suit - and include - them.
If you wouldn’t support this kind of behavior towards black people, you have no business supporting this kind of behavior towards women.
@T_H33@UsmanAbidemiEsq If you are a law teacher then you would know that there is no such thing as "British" law - it's either English law or Scottish law - which were you referring to?

🧵10 things we need to do in order to eradicate gender ideology from British society:
1. Repeal the Gender Recognition Act 2004.
2. Remove the protected characteristic of ‘gender reassignment’ from the Equality Act 2010.
3. Permanently ban and criminalise puberty blockers.
4. Permanently ban and criminalise cross-sex hormones.
5. Permanently ban and criminalise ‘sex re-assignment surgeries’.
6. Close all ‘gender clinics’ and bring children who believe themselves to be in the wrong body back into the central mental health system.
7. Cancel the government proposal to introduce legislation banning talking therapies (under the guise of ‘conversion therapy’).
8. Sever the ‘LGB’ from the ‘T’ in all public policies and protocols.
9. Remove all trans ideological symbolism from public buildings.
10. Ban schools from teaching gender ideology.
Any others? Post them below.
7/ It strikes me that elderly people are being forced to move with the times or face huge struggles to do what should be quite straightforward. I've had to help arrange all of the household utilities and services.
They aren't stupid, just elderly.
10/ independent and able to manage their affairs in a way that they understand, instead of being given such anxiety at their time of life, when they have spent so much of it contributing to and funding what we have. And I agree. They shouldn't have to struggle so. It sucks.
