Foreign purchases of U.S. short-term Treasury securities plummeted by 80%

☑️ According to the latest data from the U.S. Treasury Department, net purchases of U.S. short-term Treasury securities by foreign investors plunged from $250.5 billion in the 12 months ending July 2025 to just $49.4 billion in the 12 months ending July 2026.

This represents an 80% year-over-year decline.
