Absolutely crucial analysis of parliamentary intent re the proscription regime outlined in the Terrorism Act, 2000.
It was never parliament's intention that this legislation could be used to proscribe a non-violent protest group engaged only in criminal damage
@Pal_action
Ahead of the expected proscription of Palestine Action - the first time a protest group has been legally redefined as terrorist - I went through the Hansard of the 2000 Act they're being banned under. Turns out MPs were assured the law wouldn't be applied this way. Thread 🧵🔽
Gaie was forced to spend Christmas and her 79th birthday in prison, just because the government couldn't find an electronic tag that fitted 🙃
We helped Gaie get released from prison, and now we're helping her sue the Ministry of Justice 💪 Take action: https://t.co/YtZx2lRYNs
Switzerland and Germany have refused to do any further work with Palantir as this would be detrimental to their national security.
Where is the UK Government's risk analysis and due diligence, and if done why such a different conclusion than other governments?
The cross-party House of Commons Science, Innovation and Technology Committee has concluded the government should terminate NHS England's contract with Palantir - citing the company "supporting highly controversial policies and activities."
Palantir has been supplying software to the Israeli military and intelligence services that contribute to Israel’s ongoing genocide, apartheid, and illegal occupation in Gaza.
A company profiting from such grave human rights abuses should have no role in our health system or wider public sector.
'Thousands of patients and staff have serious concerns about this company's involvement in the NHS.'
Worries grow over the involvement of Palantir in the UK's healthcare system, and Dr Rhiannon Mihranian Osborne is one of the people calling for a cancellation of their contract.
A committee of MPs has warned against the involvement of US tech company Palantir in public services.
The Commons Science Committee said Palantir's role in the NHS and other departments is an "unacceptable point of weakness".
Israel yesterday kidnapped four women. Two are footballers in the Palestinian National Team.
Their names are: Natali Abu Dia and Rand Halwani.
Is it normal to kidnap footballers, @FIFAcom? Where are sports media organisations? This story should be the headline everywhere.
UN Special Rapporteur @profbensaul in 2024: "Germany & the United States supply 99% of the weapons exported to Israel. They could stop this conflict overnight if they stopped the weapons that kill the Palestinians"
BREAKING: Activists unveil Marwan Barghouti statue in Parliament Square
Today, activists unveiled a new statue of Marwan Barghouti in Parliament Square, but were then intercepted by police.
Marwan Barghouti has been imprisoned by Israel for 24 years, 1 month and 19 days for crimes he did not commit. He was convicted by a court he did not recognise in a trial widely criticised by legal experts and human rights observers.
A sitting Palestinian parliamentarian at the time of his arrest, he remains, more than two decades later, the most popular choice for Palestinian leadership in opinion polls.
Often called ‘Palestine’s Mandela’, he is a powerful symbol of hope and a long-time advocate for freedom and dignity for the Palestinian people.
Nelson Mandela was once politically isolated and labelled a terror*st before being recognised as a global symbol of freedom and justice. Marwan Barghouti faces a similar fate.
The statue may not stand in Parliament Square yet, but we know this is a just cause. One day, Marwan will take his rightful place alongside other civil rights leaders.
Free Marwan. Free Palestine.
@FreeMarwanNow
Today, I stated that Israel's actions in Lebanon amount to war crimes.
The Minister accepted my assessment.
The govt must set out the steps it will take to ensure the UK does not aid or assist the commissioning of Israel's war crimes.
Palantir has no place in our NHS.
Patient safety is paramount. We must end all ties with Palantir and remove it from our NHS well before the 2027 break clause.
🚨 WATCH: Nigel Farage is repeatedly heckled by MPs as he calls on Keir Starmer to end "two-tier policing"
Starmer: "His response has been to appeal for rage. That’s his response to a father who lost his son & asked for this not to happen... it shows exactly who he is"

4/ We’ve seen this US playbook before: calls of “freedom” used to justify invasion, chaos and suffering. People are right to be alarmed. https://t.co/I5r2o101aU
Argentina’s far-right government blames Indigenous Mapuche communities for the wildfires devastating Patagonia.
But judicial investigations have found no evidence to support this – despite officials suggesting links to “terrorism”.
The real evidence points elsewhere.⬇️
The UN adds Israeli entities to its annual sexual violence in conflict blacklist, including the Israel Prison Service in its 2026 report, after years of documentation detailing severe sexual abuse against Palestinians in Israeli prisons.
Al Jazeera's Nida Ibrahim reports.
Israeli soldiers and settlers are using sexualised violence to displace Palestinians, a new report finds. Britain should pull every lever available to stop this
👉Sexual abuse of Palestinians should force a reckoning for the British government

I have written urgently to the Foreign Secretary regarding reports that Israel and the US are discussing removing Jordan’s custodianship over Al-Aqsa Mosque.
At no point is this interference acceptable - especially not against the backdrop of genocide in Gaza. Any attempt to alter its custodial arrangement would be deeply dangerous, profoundly inflammatory, and in clear breach of international law, with the potential to ignite wider regional escalation.
The UK must oppose this unequivocally.
The headline talks about Antisemitism fears.
Yet both people were criticising a genocidal Israeli Government.
This constant conflation of criticism of Jewish people with criticism of Israel makes me as a Jewish person feel less safe.
Such a dangerous decision by Labour.
