I also attended this symposium. The most surprising was panelist Ashley Valentine stating that all of the Sickle Cell research initiatives were instituted by GOP Administrations: Nixon, Bush, Trump. And the greatest success by far was under Trump!

At least one hospital group in NorCal is trying to provide additional compensation to reward frontline workers who show up for work, but is running into mass resistance from it's supposed "partner" labor unions who want any bonus to be paid to everyone whether they work or not.
