Those who want a general election should wait until 2028. The speech was clear for every British person to understand. Those pushing out propaganda do not represent the mass of the British people who want governance to be brought close to their door step. Development starts from bottom to the top, not the other way around. Everyone must feel the impact of government and he has promised that. So we wait for him to get the top job and implement his plans and policies. Party wins elections and Labour won the last general elections and will see it through. Other parties had the opportunity but failed, so if they want a change, they should wait till the next elections. Andy must be strong on this point, general elections is two years ahead and trust me with @andyburnham Labour will win again.
Inconvenient truth was the title of a book written by Algor, the former US vice president.
The young south African lady in the video below represents another version of inconvenient truth from South Africa addressed to all Nigerian.
"You are suffering from a sickness called 'Tinubu' that's poverty. Sometimes, not everybody who comes to church needs prayers; some people are actually hungry."

Owning Up to Leadership Failures and Political Responsibility
This morning, I listened to the British Prime Minister’s speech announcing his planned resignation in July. As a keen observer of global politics, my primary interest lies in examining what successful nations do right and the structural factors that cause others to lag or struggle with governance and development.
The Prime Minister’s planned resignation comes amid mounting public frustration over a stagnant economy, a worsening cost-of-living crisis, and a perceived failure to honour key campaign pledges.
Looking inward in our dear country, we can recall our own situation. Before 2015, our President on several occasions championed the call for the then President Goodluck Jonathan to resign over economic hardship and insecurity affecting Nigerians. During the Chibok school kidnapping incident, he demanded the immediate resignation of President Jonathan, arguing that the government had failed in its most fundamental duty of protecting lives.
During the 2023 election campaign, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu made several promises, including improved electricity supply. He also challenged the electorate not to vote for him for a second term if he failed to deliver on those commitments—particularly in providing stable power, fighting corruption, and improving the welfare of Nigerians.
At present, however, these conditions have worsened. Electricity supply remains unreliable, insecurity has intensified in many areas, including kidnappings, and economic hardship has deepened rather than eased. Similar concerns are reflected across other critical sectors such as security, infrastructure, transportation, and anti-corruption efforts, all of which have regressed. We are in the worst possible condition.
I, therefore, join Nigerians of goodwill in calling for the resignation of the President over monumental failure in governance. Such a gesture would help enthrone a political culture rooted in accountability and responsibility, rather than further entrenching impunity. It would also send a powerful message that public office is a sacred trust, not an entitlement, and help build a society in which future leaders understand that failure carries consequences. Only by ending the culture of impunity can we secure a better future for the society our children will inherit in a New Nigeria that is possible. -PO
Congratulations, @AndyBurnhamGM, on your victory.
It shows that elections are not won through negative propaganda, but through dedication, integrity, and character.
This is why I want to call on you to consider challenging for the leadership of the Labour Party and restoring hope to immigrants and every British citizen who believes that the Labour Party should uphold British values rather than succumb to political propaganda.
I watched and listened to your victory speech, and what stood out to me was your emphasis on hope. You said that this hope would be extended to everyone in your constituency, regardless of how they voted. That is what good politics should represent.
I know there are carers who voted for you because they believe you will help change their current state of hopelessness and address the uncertainty surrounding their path to settlement. They came to the UK with the understanding that settlement would be possible after five years of working and supporting the British health and social care sector.
Today, many of them are being labelled as something they are not. Few people talk about the impact they make in our communities. They work day and night. They are present in homes, on our streets, in care homes, hospitals, prisons, and mental health facilities across the country.
The Labour Party cannot change the goalposts for legal immigrants in the middle of the game. It must not be swayed by what other parties are doing. This country must return to the path of truth rather than embrace propaganda simply for the sake of winning elections.
Elections come and go, but character and integrity outlive us all.
The Labour government has an image to rebuild and strengthen. Just as you secured victory against the odds and in the face of negative campaigning, so too can a political party that remains true to its values and to the values of the country. Such a party can win elections regardless of the propaganda directed against it.
I know the task ahead is enormous, but someone, somehow, must be willing to take it on.
You represent hope, and that hope is for everyone.
As we look to the days and weeks ahead, we look forward to seeing that hope translated into action.
Congratulations once again.
Dear beloved sports-loving Nigerian youths,
After watching the performances of Davido, Burna Boy, and Rema at the opening of the 2026 World Cup—at a time when Nigeria, the giant of Africa, is absent—I felt a measure of consolation. This was reinforced by the fact that many Nigerians playing for clubs worldwide are representing other countries. Felix Nmecha, for instance, set a record by scoring the fastest goal at six minutes for Germany. I write to you therefore, knowing that this country belongs to you, the youth.
You are more of stakeholders in Nigeria’s future than I am. I am 64 years old; by God’s grace, much of my journey is behind me, while yours lies ahead.
It is therefore imperative that you rise to the challenge by obtaining your PVC, your most powerful tool for driving the change you desire.
In the last three years alone, over 15 million Nigerians have turned 18—enough to decide who becomes President, Governor, Senator, Member of the House, or Local Government Chairman. Indeed, enough to shape the nation’s future.
I know many of you are sceptical about politics and political parties. I understand why, but scepticism must not become surrender.
You do not need to belong to any party or wait for anyone to organise you. Organise yourselves in your streets, campuses, communities, workplaces, churches, mosques, and social groups. Mobilise, debate, demand accountability, and take part in choosing those you wish to entrust with leadership.
If you are organised and wish to hear directly from me, invite me. I will come and share my plans for you and our nation.
Do not sit on the sidelines while others decide your future.
I appeal to you to register and vote. Your vote can shape who becomes the next President of our country.
My young friends, this is your country. Take it back.
A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO
Taking Kenneth Okonkwo to court wouldn’t have arisen if he had stopped at those allegations, but he claimed he still has more he would expose about me in the future — Peter Obi
@PeteVowles@UKinNigeria Nigeria is a beautiful country and Abuja offers a lot of nice places to relax after work. Congratulations @PeteVowles and enjoy your time.
@iamHSDickson made his point clear and everyone should shield their sword and focus on the bigger picture. If the goal is rescue Nigeria and fix it then we must take stocks of the errors in the process and work towards fixing it when God helps the party into government. Nigeria needs work and that work must be done by all.
We told them that @ADCNig is an arrangement put in place by @atiku to use other opposition figures as his support in building a structure to contest the 2027 elections since @OfficialPDPNig was not going to give him their structure to used again, but they refused to listen. Today they are crying saying the primaries was rigged. Even if that primaries is done 10 times @atiku will still use his people and win. @PeterObi was wiser than the other two. @ Obidient movement knew this thing early enough and sounded the alarm. That is why they were angry when we say @PeterObi or nothing.
@AmbChijioke This is mediocrity. Ikwerre people as na your brother be candidate it is good for the governor not to fight. You guys are not serious. You should stand by the riverine people to complete 8 years like you said otherwise you lack integrity
VIEWS FROM KIGALI ABOUT NIGERIAN OPPOSITION WEAKNESSES

I share constructive criticism about where opposition parties and politicians have gone wrong and dish out small advice about some of the ways in which they can become strong enough to give Tinubu a bloody nose in 2027.

A court of competent jurisdiction can void anything in the electoral act which is not in line with constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria. You cannot restrict people from moving and expressing their right to vote and be voted for. If a party refuses to clear a candidate who is qualified by the provisions of the constitution why shouldn’t that citizen go to a party that wants to give him ticket. This should have long been challenged. If everyone wants to contest and there are platforms enough to give them ticket I think they should be allowed to go and present themselves. This rule is just to force people to become slaves to the so called leaders of parties in power. See what is happening across the country now. APC members crying even more better candidates than the ones anointed
So you are now working for Wike after all the open fight. I have never seen a people like you guys. This does not reflect the spirit of a Rivers State I grew up in. I am ashamed of your actions except I see something different before, during and after the elections. You want to support whoever emerges sad..
