Residents of Ndokwa Local Government Area will soon experience lasting relief as the Delta State Government steps up efforts to restore stable electricity supply to the area.
Commissioner for Energy, Engr. Michael Anoka, gave the assurance on Wednesday in Utagba-Uno during the commissioning of key road projects by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori in Ndokwa West Local Government Area.
Anoka disclosed that the Ministry of Energy, under the Governor’s directive, is engaging BEDC and TCN to fast-track the reconnection of affected communities.
He urged residents to remain patient and continue supporting government initiatives, while calling on community leaders to protect electricity infrastructure and other public assets for sustainable development.
According to the 2025 Commonwealth Institute of Advanced and Professional Studies (CIAPS) Governance Performance Index (CGPI), Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has led Delta State to emerge as the 2nd best-performing state in Nigeria, scoring 70%.

Standing by his commitment to leave no local government behind, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has underscored that the welfare of the people remains at the heart of his administration’s decisions, as reflected in the projects being delivered across the state.
Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has directed the Commissioner for Works to begin the process for the execution of Phase II of the Utagba-Uno/Ndemili Road project.
The governor gave the directive after commissioning three key road projects in Ndokwa West, saying the increasing number of infrastructure projects across the state reflects prudent resource management and his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of Deltans.
He added that work is progressing on several road projects in Ndokwa Nation, including the approved seven-kilometre Emu-Ebendo-Iyasele-Ashaka Road and the six-kilometre access road to the Kwale Industrial Park.
Other ongoing projects include the Emu-Beneku Road, the Ogbedigbo-Afor Road with a spur to the palace, and the Timber Road to Waterside in Obiaruku.

The projects—5.0km Utagba-Uno/Ndemili Road Phase 1, 8.4km Etua Ukpo/Etua Etiti/Etua Oliogo Road, and 4.5km Obi-Ibabu/Ibabu Road represent a combined 17.9 kilometres of new road infrastructure delivered to improve connectivity and support development across communities in the Ndokwa nation.
Governor Oborevwori stated that the projects further demonstrate his administration’s determination to build resilient and sustainable infrastructure across the state, reiterating that every local government area remains captured in the development agenda. He also assured residents of the commencement of additional approved road projects in the area and called on communities to protect public infrastructure for the benefit of present and future generations.
