The Oceanic Manta Ray (Mobula birostris) has been uplisted from vulnerable to endangered on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. They join many of the smaller devil ray species also listed as endangered due mainly to the imposing threat from targeted and bycatch fisheries.
