Dear Congolese Tutsis (Banyamulenge) youth,

Where do you find joy in supporting the Leopards—a team currently funded and used by Tshisekedi to promote his image and cover his crimes—while, your own brothers and sisters are being killed in Minembwe and across the Hauts Plateaux?
Daily bombings. aerial and grounds attacks on #Minembwe villages and surrounding areas. Burning of villages and looting of cows. A deliberate humanitarian blockade that has brought hunger and suffering. Hate speech directed at your very own families.

And now, the same government uses the national football team (Learpards) to project a positive image abroad while, these sad realities continue.

Kindly enlighten me: where do you find the joy and energy in celebrating these matches? I wish I could share it. I truly do. But I cannot celebrate while my people are dying under the silent watch of the local and international community.
In the face of injustice, oppression, killings, and hunger caused by the blockade, no responsible person should remain passive or lend support to a team that is being used by the regime in Kinshasa as a public relations tool.
I will gladly support and cheer the Leopards in the years ahead—hopefully when Minembwe and the rest affected areas in DRC are at peace, when those enduring these hardships are no longer suffering, and when the ongoing bloodshed has finally come to an end. #Twirwaneho_Kwanza @FIFAWorldCup

Hier à Paris, c'était l'heure de vérité dans la course pour le poste de Secrétaire général de la Francophonie. L'audition des quatre candidats, par la 47ème session extraordinaire de la Conférence ministérielle de la Francophonie (CMF), a permis à chaque postulant de présenter, pendant 20 minutes, son parcours et sa vision, et de répondre, pendant 35 minutes, aux questions des ministres. Ceci était une première dans l'histoire de la Francophonie, qui a été permise par la réforme de la gouvernance de l'OIF opérée par la Secrétaire générale actuelle, Louise Mushikiwabo.

49 États membres, dont 23 ministres, étaient représentés à la CMF, y compris les Ministres des Affaires étrangères des quatre États ayant présenté des candidats (trois - Mauritanie, Roumanie et Rwanda - en présentiel, et une - RDC- en visioconférence).

À l'issue des auditions, deux conclusions se sont immédiatement imposées:

1) Les présentations de tous les candidats ont été faites dans un esprit très constructif. En effet, les trois femmes africaines et le gentleman européen ont pu dérouler leur programme, sans confrontation aucune entre pays ou candidats. Les même personnes ont d'ailleurs pu échanger, de façon cordiale et courtoise, lors de la réception organisée par le Président cambodgien de la CMF;

2) Un contraste saisissant a quand-même sauté aux yeux de tous; entre d'une part, l'expérience, la compétence et la maîtrise des dossiers de Louise Mushikiwabo, et, d'autre part, celles de ses trois compétiteurs. Mais cela n'enlève rien à l'ambition sincère que tous les candidats ont pu exprimer pour notre organisation commune.

La prochaine étape sera le 20ème Sommet de la Francophonie, qui aura lieu à Phnom Penh au Cambodge les 15-16 Novembre 2026, au cours duquel les Chefs d'État et de Gouvernement vont, sur recommendation de leurs ministres, élire ou réélire le/la Secrétaire général(e) de la Francophonie.

This morning, our CEO had the pleasure of welcoming Caroline Raes and her team from the Global Green Growth Institute (@gggi_hq ) for the signing of a Memorandum of Engagement between GGGI and Rwanda Green Fund.

The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration to advance Rwanda’s green growth and climate resilience ambitions in support of the Sustainable Development Goals, the Paris Agreement, Rwanda’s NDC 3.0, and the Green Growth and Climate Resilience Strategy.

Through this partnership, RGF and GGGI will work together to mobilize green investments, strengthen carbon market development and Article 6 implementation, support innovative financing solutions, provide technical advisory services on green technologies, and develop a pipeline of high-impact climate and green growth projects that contribute to Rwanda’s sustainable transformation.

It’s a bit surprising you start your list of criticisms of Rwanda with “widespread poverty”. To me the opposite is a lot more true - how successful Rwanda has been in reducing poverty in a landlocked country, heavy populated and in with an agricultural economy.

Nearly all African nations struggle to develop fast. Rwanda is a shining example for the continent on rapid growth and fast reduction in poverty.

In 1990 Burundi and Rwanda were at the same level. I believe Rwanda is now five times richer per capita.

Hon. @DaudiKabanda, with due respect, I must set the record straight. I do NOT hold a Rwandan passport. This is a deliberate falsehood introduced by Hon. Thomas Tayebwa, and the truth must be told.

We have it ON RECORD —
@Thomas_Tayebwa’s own words: “In every vetting session we have to fail someone, and this time it had to be you, Dr. Muganga.” Read that again. This rejection was decided before the process even began. It was never about passports, qualifications, or integrity. It was personal. It was calculated. It was discriminatory. And in due course, we shall release the audio that proves it. Stay tuned.

Hon. Kabanda, what I experienced in that committee was not parliamentary oversight. It was hatred. It was discrimination. It was racism, directed at me simply because I am a Munyarwanda.

Let me be clear: We Banyarwanda are Ugandans. We were born here. We pay taxes here. We build institutions here. We have given our lives to serve this nation. I personally have spent decades working tirelessly for Uganda, conducting thousands of interviews, engaging with thousands of people, sitting in hundreds of boardroom meetings across 56 countries. In all those years and in all those rooms, I have never once encountered the kind of hostility that Hon. Tayebwa directed at me. Not once. And to this day, I cannot understand the depth of hatred he carries toward Banyarwanda. I do not have to take my word for it. Ask the other members of the Appointment Committee, including those from the Opposition side. They were there. They witnessed it.

So I ask one simple question: what is Hon. Tayebwa so afraid of? What remains hidden that my presence at Internal Affairs would threaten to uncover?

Uganda belongs to ALL its citizens equally. Banyarwanda included. We are not second class citizens. We will not be treated as such. This selective and discriminatory application of the law must be called out loudly, and it must stop. The law is not a weapon to be aimed at one community of our own people.

We are Ugandan. We belong here. And we will not be silenced.

Equating the FDLR with the M23 is not neutrality, it is historical and political distortion.

One is widely linked to the legacy of the 1994 genocide and long-standing patterns of mass atrocities and regional destabilization. The other emerged from a distinct, ongoing political and security crisis in eastern DRC, shaped by unresolved governances, including the effect of genocide against the Tutsi in 1994, and contested protection of certain communities who were at the verge of extermination, and are most scattered in different refugee camps around the world.

Placing them on the same moral and historical footing may serve diplomatic convenience, but it does not serve accuracy.

History is not balanced by arithmetic. It is clarified by truth, and truth, however delayed, ultimately prevails.
