And another dev update from @EnderManBuild !
"Greetings! ❤️
I'm really excited to let you know that the main work on the X3 - Pixel Realism - Vibrant Visuals Support update is done! I'm now moving on to the compression stage to bring down the texture pack size as much as possible.
I wanted to get your opinion on something. The biggest chunk of the file size comes from the animated plants textures. I originally had 61 frames per plant, now I've cut it down to 31, but it still hasn't helped as much as I hoped.
I see two options:
The easy way - Remove the animations from the Minecraft Marketplace version and release the full animated plants as a separate free pack on PlanetMinecraft (or similar sites). Players who want them can just download and layer it over the purchased mash-up.
The harder way - Spend more time trying to simplify the animations even further.
Let me know what you think! I’d love to make a quick decision and release this update out as soon as possible.
Also, I’m including an extra 16x texture pack in the update for players with weaker hardware - I think it’s really necessary.
Thanks! ❤️ "
Big thanks for the feedback!
Making the pack compatible with A&S isn't possible because we can't access the structure of the A&S resource pack and, therefore, can't ensure compatibility. Some mob animations from AS still work with X3, but weapons and tools won't be compatible, as X3 weapons are 3D models, not item-based ones. It's unlikely that the studio developing the A&S resource pack will agree to collaborate officially, and we don't have a large enough team to provide ongoing compatibility support for all future A&S updates.
The good news is that the project will continue to evolve if there's enough interest from the community!
We can't provide an exact date, as the internal marketplace review process can vary in length. On our end, texture maps for blocks, items, and about three-quarters of all entities are done - cooking actively right now! We expect the pack to be sent for review in the spring, and then it's up to the review team. Hopefully, they're not overloaded.
Exciting update from the X3 - Pixel Realism developer!

"Hey legends!
The Vibrant Visuals update is coming along really well, although it is taking a little longer than originally planned.
But it's shaping up to be something truly huge! Project folder already at 7.5k+ files (mob textures still not counted… and I'm still working on it! 😎
On top of epic new texture maps and a revamped lighting and atmospherics preset, I'm thinking about adding tool & weapon animations. Would love to hear your thoughts - how important are these animations to you?
Massive thanks for your time and for supporting the project!💞
See you in the mines!"
