I am telling you this from experience. If you're down and don't know who to turn to, recite " La ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu minaz zalimin" as many times as you can. Allah will elevate your mood and ease your pain. By his will and might.
Late Ahmadu Ribadu (Dan galadima Adamawa);
Ahmadu Ribadu was a one time minister of the federal republic, a one time honourable member house of Representatives, he also served as a Nigerian Ambassador to the Niger. He was respected all over Nigeria and was awarded recently even after his death.
His close confidants/Friends were Ahmadu Bello, shehu shagari, tafawa balewa, maitama sule, Hamidu Alkali, damburam Jada just to mention a few. He chose to come back to Yola to work with the native authority and left federal service when he could have been retained and given a federal appointment in Lagos just like maitama sule etc who were his contemporaries out of the love he has for Yola and the passion to see it developed.
He worked at the native authority till 1975 when he was appointed finance commissioner in Maiduguri when northern eastern states were created. After the 1976 coup and gongola was created, he became the finance commissioner and later on the local government council commissioner.
He retired fully from federal service 1978 and because of his humanitarian services and the vital role he played in the development of Adamawa state, he was conferred with a doctorate degree by mautech Yola.
He is among the top 20 most influential men in Adamawa (The list was compiled 2015 by Adamawa Native Authority). He was the first chairman of the NDDC as he was the one who established it.
He was neither poor nor very rich as he didn't misuse his post to enrich himself or his family. He educated each and every of his almost 30 children to the best of his ability. Ahmadu Ribadu was honored with OFR by the then President Obasanjo.
Rest in Jannah!
My wife kept asking if I was ill because I returned from Gembu and headed straight to my room to sleep. At some point, she even suggested that I see a doctor. It was unlike me to go to bed that early, but insufficient sleep usually leaves me disoriented and feverish. I needed the rest to steady myself mentally, especially because I had a task to submit to my boss the next morning.
The last time I endured such a long road trip was when I missed my train and had to travel from London to Aberdeen by road. But unlike that previous nine-hour journey, the eight-hour Mambilla route unfolded like an enchanted landscape, a tourism goldmine lying in waste.
The only place I had ever visited and thought, “I could actually live here,” was the Swiss countryside, with its pastoral serenity and green mountains. This is ironic because I do not get along with winter. We are, in fact, sworn enemies.
The Mambilla Plateau brought back that same feeling of pastoral beauty and mountain calm, but it is even more appealing than the Swiss countryside because its weather, compared to the icy grip of Switzerland, is gentler on the skin. What is missing is the infrastructure, and this is the task before the new and next generations of Taraba leaders, as well as the Federal Government.
A new chapter has emerged in the political landscape of Adamawa State as Maurice Vunobolki selected Dr. Rukaiyya Bashir Ribadu as his Deputy Governorship candidate under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
At just 30 years old, Dr. Ribadu stands out as one of Adamawa State’s finest academic talents,
