I find it funny when the media were hand-wringing about how Soto would have no protection in the lineup without Judge when Juan signed with the Mets last year. This year, he’s having one of his best seasons to date, and he has practically no protection.
Interesting that the Mets are moving away from platoons, and instead going with the best lineup, that happens to be left-hand heavy, against the left-handed starter. That’s the right approach for now.
