A prayer in times of civil strife ☦️:
O Lord, we have provoked thy just judgement and have angered thy goodness; but in thy love for mankind, spare thy sinful people and abandon us not to destruction. Turn away thy wrath and drive away the strife and bloodshed that hath risen up against us. Raise our life from corruption and scatter our enemies; hear us in the day of our affliction, save us from our distress and bring us out of darkness and the shadows of death, for thou art the King of peace and Saviour of our souls, and thine is the glory to the ages of ages. Amen.
Protestants have no ears to hear because they were burned and conditioned by papism. Now they “blow on the yogurt” of Orthodoxy!
They also cannot hear because the basic meaning of terms is off :
Salvation, faith, grace, church, etc.
The meaning of these basic terms were shaped within the church by the apostles and church fathers but Protestants have been twice or thrice removed from this context from the beginning and thus they really preach another Gospel.
That today so many sincere inquirers are driven dizzy and into indifference when they try to make sense of basic concepts surrounding the Faith and Life, the Way and Truth of the Lord, is both a tragedy and indicative of the stage we find ourselves in the unfolding of salvation history.
We must follow closely the Holy Fathers — from the disciples of the Disciples until today, the contemporary saints and then we come into the meaning of things, in the life of the Church which is the “same yesterday, today and forever.”
@NoeticSpring Not inherently evil/satanic but will absolutely be wielded by the evil one and the demons.
Should exercise caution when using, and should never use it for any spiritual matters whatsoever.
Unfortunately in certain industries (like tech) it cannot be avoided entirely.
While driving south with copies of his book, Orthodoxy and the Religion of the Future, (which critiqued modern spiritual deceptions), Saint Seraphim of Platina stopped partway up Mount Shasta—at a site known for neo-pagan festivals—and sang Paschal chants celebrating Christ’s Resurrection and victory over Satan and death. A recurring thought came to him: that an Orthodox priest should bless the mountain with holy water. After his ordination to the priesthood in 1977, he returned. He sang services (including the Typica), sprinkled holy water at multiple spots on the mountain, and effectively reclaimed it for Christ in a form of spiritual warfare against its reputation as a hub for neo-paganism, shamanism, UFO lore, and other occult/New Age activity.
Orthodox friends! We're looking to buy new gospel books for use in the altar, the big ornate ones with lectionaries.
The current one we have is bilingual, but we want to get an English only one, does anyone know where we could purchase one? Unfortunately most places are sold out.
@XFreeze Neuralink is a much bigger breakthrough than most people realize.
Enabling people to control a computer with their mind and the completely blind to see are Jesus-level miracles.
