One of the things I liked about that Alex Onyia trip with the students is the fact that they were accompanied by their teachers. It’s high time the teachers get the much needed respect and honour they deserve.
except this time
I can see it's a door,
and no one will carry me through it.
It a Step I must take by myself, all alone.
I can't escape it. Tears are pouring down my cheek.
Why did I come, just to leave again.
So, one day; just as it had begun, will it end.
Chai!
I don't remember the dark before I was.
No dread there; just nothing, unfelt.
But I exist now, to feel this:
that whatever comes after
might be that same nothing,
and I won't be spared from it
the way I was spared the first time;
because there'll be no me left to be spared.
Whatever's coming; it happens to me first, because no one to tell me of their experience first hand
then it unhappens me entirely.
I built a whole life, experience, relationships, family; All of it.
Just to end up standing at the exact same door
I walked through blind,
His name is Egejurum Onyedikachi, and he is a genius.
Let that sink in.
He is in Primary 6 but does wonders with mathematics that make SS3 students tremble.
The world will know him and celebrate him.
He is currently with me in Rome to challenge champions from other countries this Saturday.
Don Anele Munachimso Marvelous is now ready for tomorrow’s competition. He has refused to smile since morning.
He will be representing us in the Senior Category at the International STEM Olympiad, Rome, Italy.
He is currently the best in Chemistry for IGCSE in Nigeria.
His head is filled with math and science. He is such a gentle and well-behaved boy.
He is a star.
We are all set for Rome: the students, the teachers, and the crew.
History will be made for sure.
Nigeria is the country with the most brilliant set of human beings, and we will prove it to the world.
You are unlikely to ever be as rich as Dangote, and you have already missed the boat to fame as either an athlete or an artiste. But you have gained immortality by your efforts in pursuit of a sustainable and relevant educational system for the youthful victims of Nigerian..👏🏿
Next week, I will be taking 3 students and 2 teachers to Rome, Italy, all expenses paid by me.
All visas have been issued and all arrangements have been sorted.
The students will represent Nigeria in the Maths and Science categories of the International STEM Olympiad.
They will compete alongside 154 other countries.
The students who won the 2026 South East Maths Olympiad and the teachers who supported them are going. Both the teachers and the students will experience growth together.
I will continue to push our bright minds to global stages.
In 10 years, I pray you will be alive to see the outcome of our investments in our children today.
