Today was an inspiring day as I joined the Honourable Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Olumide Egbedun at the venue of the official attempt to break the Guinness World Record for a READ-A-THON (MARATHON READING ALOUD) by Comrade Ajao Samson.

Being a part of this historic event filled me with pride, knowing that an Osun native is striving to achieve such a remarkable feat. Breaking this record would showcase the boundless potentials of our youths, proving that with perseverance, any goal is attainable.

As the Chairman of the House Committee on Youths, Sports, and Special Needs, I am committed to partnering the youths of Osun State to continue pushing boundaries and leaving a legacy that inspires generations to come.

Let's aim high together as we embark on this journey to break the record, with a targeted duration of 214 hours.

As hectic as today has been, it was filled with memorable moments of recognition and encouragement. This afternoon, I had the privilege of honouring an invitation from the retired Auditor-General for Local Government of the state, Pastor Emmanuel Oluseun Kolapo, as the Special Guest of Honour. Mr. Kolapo is one of the finest civil servants I have had the pleasure of working with, renowned for his diligence, commitment, and dedication to his work.

Although, Mr. Kolapo has retired, his expertise remains invaluable, and our government intends to continue drawing upon his wealth of experience to deliver accountable governance. I extend my appreciation for his years of dedicated service to the state and wish him a fulfilling and joyous retirement.

Today, I also witnessed firsthand the passion and determination of Ajao Samson, a noble son of Osun, who has unofficially broken the @GWR and is on the verge of setting another remarkable record with his #214HOURSREADATHON. During a brief chat with Ajao, I commended his zeal and commitment to bringing both his name and the name of our beloved state into the global spotlight with this new feat.

Under the leadership of our amiable Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, our government will continue to encourage and support our young citizens in their various pursuits and endeavours, fostering an environment where ambition and hard work can thrive.
